I'll take a look at Google docs tonight, I'm not familiar with that. I note that a lot of work has been done on a wiki already. So long as reference material is readily accessible it doesn't matter too much where it is.

However, I think it's important that actual comments by the community be gathered through xoops.org, as this is where everyone is (virtually speaking).

Update: I've just sent the team members a draft agenda and proposed procedural matters for consideration. So hopefully we can get started on the discussions within a couple of days, after people have had a chance to look things over.

One of the things on the agenda is a mechanism to keep the community informed and allow community input. Will post more on this after the team has provided feedback.

I dont' think I'd want to recommend one over the other at this stage as I have quite restricted experience - most of the big names like Paypal don't support Thailand, so I can't use them.

Shop around - the rates vary a fair bit too, and if you can find one that is native to your own country you can avoid international exchange costs.

I've been looking into this myself lately. If you only have a small range of products, you may be better just constructing your own static 'product display' pages using a content module such as Pico.

Then open an account with one of the online payment gateways - they supply code for 'buy me' type buttons that hand the user off to the gateway's secure online payment facilities.

Simple solution sometimes best...at least that is the theory.

Have a look in news/xoopsversion.php, I think you can just comment out the submenu items in there somewhere.

With the news block, I think you need to edit the block settings again, and highlight the categories that you want the block to show news from (try selecting all of them to start). If you have no categories selected it the block will not appear because it has no content.

I don't know about your second block problem sorry. But maybe you need to assign group permissions to your new blocks to let people see them? By default, new blocks are only visible to webmaster and registered user groups (not anonymous users).

Crip: I'll ask people to email their comments back to me, and then circulate the 'amended' agenda a second time for the team's approval.

Ok you got in just before I sent the list. I have also lodged the objections that have been raised with DJ, including the reasons that have been given, and asked him to make a decision on them.

I want to make one thing clear to everyone: Personal issues are not going to be on the agenda. We'll be talking about structures and procedures, not individuals. Please come prepared for a constructive debate. Thanks.

Ok, it's 24 hours later, and we have quite a few names now. Moving along:

* I will forward the available names to DJ, as well as the one objection for him to consider, and propose that we close the nominations and finalise the team.

* I will circulate a draft framework for holding orderly discussions, for comment by the team members, within 24 hours. It will include proposed:

i) terms of reference for the team (our job specification).

ii) procedures for conducting discussion (voting, peace keeping etc).

iii) a draft agenda (to keep discussions on track).

iv) a suggested mechanism to keep the community informed and allow for feedback to be made as discussions progress.

If the team can reach agreement on these procedural matters then we will start on the hard stuff.
