Thanks Herko !

So, in mean time, would you recommend not using MyDownloads RC1 with XOOPS version 2.0.6?

Thanks your answer !

Does someone have a package that contains all the modifications that have been adressed in this thread : MyDownloads RC1 Released?

Also, what about MyDownloads RC1 and XOOPS 2.0.6?

I've adapted the MLPatch of hsalazar to run on version 2.0.6 of XOOPS. The package I've created worked for me. However, I can't garantee it. Horacio remains the competent person here. However, if your interested, see this link : MLPath for 2.0.6

You just have to copy the files over your good 2.0.6 XOOPS install.

***EDIT*** You also have to folow the instructions of the ReadMe file

I've found the cause. Since I'm not a coder I don't understand why... but however...

In 2.0.6, only 2 lines of codes have changed in edituser.php. Those 2 lines concern the fields (oh, what a coincidence ! ) user_sig, and bio. So I've put back the original lines of 2.5.0.2 and everything works fine now, I don't get thos anoying "...".

Here is what to do :

In edituser.php, at the line 95 change
$edituser->setVar('user_sig'xoops_substr($user_sig0255));

To :
$edituser->setVar('user_sig'$user_sig);

In line 111, change :
$edituser->setVar('bio'xoops_substr($bio0255));

To :
$edituser->setVar('bio'$bio);

That's it

fatman and Herko : thanks for you opinions.

But for the XOOPS system itself, you can't charge. You got it free, and they can get it free, so there's no point in charging the clients for XOOPS.

obviously....

fatman : if I understand it correctly, you are selling XOOPS implementation. Do you know if a lot of people/company do so?

It might be a problem of firewall. I had the same problem with Norton Internet Security installed. When I turned it off, it works. I then configured Norton for it to be activated and not interfering with XOOPS.

You may want to look at this thread : Norton Internet Security causes XOOPS errors

Hope this helps !

I've use the search module and did not find exactly what I was looking for.

I've read Is XOOPS used for business applications? but it was not quite what I was looking.

Quote:
you can sell a service(installation, customization, etc) not the cms itself

Can someone talk a bit about selling an installation, implementation, customization of a XOOPS site? What can you do and what can't you do? Is there people that concentrate on selling these services? What about pricing? Does it happen more with php-nuke or post-nuke or e-xoops?

I know, a lot of questions

Let's hear what people on this coummunity have to say !
