Forum admin pages redirect to Google!!

This is a weird one and I can't find anything else in forums so posting it here.

Newly installed XOOPS on a site (done it before on other sites, no problem), and am about setting up etc. When I go into forum admin pages and hit submit buttons (as in 'Create a new forum') browser is redirected to Google and the url input box reads "keyword:modules"

This happens in all forum admin pages but not in any other admin pages. I have reloaded NewBB module directory from source but no joy there either.

Bizarre but true

Any help obviously appreciated

Kind Regards
Ashley

Don't know why people say don't use Redhat. All my boxes run it (V8) except for a smoothwall firewall, and my production host runs on it too. I don't know a great deal about Linux but it runs good for me and means I can reutilise older boxes for dev and test purposes.

If you want a good little book on setting up a PHP based website, check out the Sams Teach Yourself title "PHP, MySQL and Apache in 24hrs" isbn 0-6723-2489-X I had mine running in under 5 hours from scratch, and then loaded up XOOPS and after a couple of false starts and a great deal of help from these XOOPS forums, I am now running 3 web sites in less than
a month! I know I'm impressed

Xoops 2.0.6 (latest available in downloads)

I have set anonymous access to see articles as a start page, Partners and Top Links as blocks on the right hand side. Navigating articles is fine. However if I click onto a partner link or web link I get the "Sorry, you don't have the permission to access this area." error.

If I set module access rights to Partners and Links, then anonymous users can add new partners and new web links, which I don't want to happen (I need them to register first unsurprisingly).

I've searched through and cannot find anyone having this problem. I've tried the bit on hittin reload before the page refreshes and that doens't work.

Is this a feature or a bug? In any event, does anyone know a workaround?

Kind Regards
Ashley Kitson

Yup, that did it! I had gzip on.

Bizarre. Is this a known *feature* ?

Kind regards

Erm,

I trust your judgement on it being a capcity issue but perhaps this needs to be brought to the attention of the developers as it is a problem experienced by at least two of us.

My local server kit is a P166, 64MB piece running RH8 with latest kernel available, Apache, MysQL and PHP. Nothing else apart from ssh (that I know of!) Was your kit similarly bare or basic? Perhaps there is a minimum kit level for teh new release.

On the production machine that I run XOOPS on it is at 2.0.5.1 not the current RC level of my local machine.

If you think it's a problem what should be done next?

Ashley

I followed the links through and found the patch for newbb on 2.0.6RC and applied it, restarted apache, and it did the trick.

Thanks

Sorry , I don't get that far

Garbage is printed when I confirm deactivation. If I hit the back button, module is not deactivated. I understand you about it being uninstalled if it appears in the lower table, but I'm not getting to that point yet.

Ashley
