I prefer to have not too much banners (except then from a person that is so kind to host us ), but I have no idea how the leaders of the XOOPS team think about it.
First, you should always make a list of files you change, everyone knows there is something like updates...
Second, what if someone discovers a serious security problem in XOOPS and you can't upgrade because you have some files changed, then your site is hacked! What are you going say then, XOOPS team fault?
I tested on a site that has phpmyadmin installed (your link wasn't working anymore since you removed the module) and there I get a none-permission error...
I don't think this is problem totally on the XOOPS side. Your browser (IE) is preventing (for security reasons) from resending the data. This security settings (wish cannot be chanced) is for preveting for example that you order 2 pc's on internet in place of 1
And why you don't just open the results in new page?
1. Doesn't matter, just the prog that you test doesn't support the single quotes. 2. If you where right, it doesn't matter because most modern good search engines doesn't use the keywords anymore (for example Google)
Idd good idea. But, in normal cases you don't have to chance users details . I personal surf with Mozilla and IE because some sites really look UGLY in Mozilla, then I need IE. But, I've put that function on off, because it's almost every time suggesting the wrong things. But ok , just me thinking...
No, it doesn't work with only activating it. Just like w4z004 said (I just think what I should do-, activate module, run install script, (admin/admin-generate.php), you can prefer your own code, the put it the code in every theme.php you've from your themes.
