Whew! I actually had to send for a new password to be able to post a reply.. It would tell me I'm logged in, then tell me I am not allowed to reply...

(This is similar to the issue with XIM I'm trying to comment on)

I too just this morning had to uninstall the latest XIM version as registered users were getting lockups after logging in.

There were also permission alerts when they would try to directly access other areas on the site.

The reason I recommended the Ajax chat was that XIM specifically speaking, isn't a "chat" module like the OP requested.. It's an Instant Messenger..

Here are my system specs:

XOOPS Version XOOPS 2.4.5
PHP Version 5.2.17
mySQL Version 5.1.52
Server API cgi-fcgi
OS Linux
safe_mode Off
register_globals Off
magic_quotes_gpc Off
allow_url_fopen Off
fsockopen On
post_max_size 64M
max_input_time 60
output_buffering
max_execution_time 30
memory_limit 128M
file_uploads On
upload_max_filesize 64M

I have no clue as to how long this was a problem as it worked perfectly for admin users who basically were the only ones using it. Regular users just reported it.

Any wisdom to be had is appreciated.

Debug mode showed nothing regarding XIM, just a couple of deprecations in other modules that aren't having issues.
The more I know, the more I know that I really didn't wanna know.

I have an Ajax chat module installed that works like a charm..

You can grab it here:
http://infernallogic.com/z/ajax-chat.rar

Install it like any other module.. I originally got it from xoops.es.

*edit*
The link above is just a packaged directory direct from my working site, for the entire package grab it here:

The more I know, the more I know that I really didn't wanna know.

If you are using a windows OS, look in "system32/drivers/etc/" for your "hosts file".
Edit out any adsense entries and see if you have the same issue.

Here's what the legitimate google entries look like:

# [Google Inc]
127.0.0.1 domains.googlesyndication.com #[Parking Service]
127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com #[Google AdWords]
127.0.0.1 adservices.google.com
127.0.0.1 video-stats.video.google.com
# 127.0.0.1 ssl.google-analytics.com #[disabled = Firefox issues]
127.0.0.1 www.google-analytics.com #[Google Analytics]
127.0.0.1 4.afs.googleadservices.com
127.0.0.1 feedads.googleadservices.com
127.0.0.1 imageads.googleadservices.com #[Tracking.Cookie]
127.0.0.1 pagead2.googleadservices.com
127.0.0.1 partner.googleadservices.com
127.0.0.1 www.googleadservices.com
127.0.0.1 apps5.oingo.com #[Microsoft.Typo-Patrol]
127.0.0.1 www.appliedsemantics.com
127.0.0.1 service.urchin.com #[Urchin Tracking Module]
The more I know, the more I know that I really didn't wanna know.

Re: Problem with AdSense ad for content

It may be that it is just new, and not indexed yet, or there's not enough other content to form a relational basis for serving ad content.

Time will tell.
*edit*
Or of course more helpful, it may be related to 2.5.0
That's for others to say.

If you find that the working of this simple module are over your head, maybe you could always come to the forums and ask for help and that way you might get the answers you are looking for.

As for the issues that you have with including HTML files, again, you could have submitted a bug report or came to these forums and I would have been only to glad to help find a solution for you, like I have with many countless other people over the years.

Maybe it is to easy just to berate rather, than help with people these days.

Ya know, I really wasn't asking for help, nor was I "berating" anyone or anything.

I was simply sharing my experience, and suggesting that the trouble he was having was with the theme size..

This response is pretty much why I don't ask for help in here.

I'm giving WF-Channel a go for a doctor friend of mine.. And yeah, the thing isn't exactly the most obvious to understand...

The "Default page" error has raised it's head for me as well..
It just isn't clearly stated the sequence needed to create new pages, or what limits to content there are...

Your issue is surely related to the size of the template.
One of these theme designers may have a fix for you.

I'm getting an error as the "admin.php" is missing from the admin directory in that package.

OK, after a bit of digging, here's where I got the module from:
Author Sebastian Tschan - converted to xoops by Aitor Uskola
(http://www.esxoops.com/ xoops spanish support)

And I'm getting errors but they aren't fatal:

Quote:
[30-May-2010 10:38:22] PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613/fileinfo.so' - /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613/fileinfo.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0
