Thank you so much, Burning, this is a great help.

I verified the themes path and they are correct. I've wiped out everything except Default, Xoops theme Oxygen and zetagenesis.

I just need to clarify something here:
you advised,
"> copy inside content of themes/default folder"

I don't understand what exactly you're telling me to do here. The default theme is located in xoopsRoot\themes\default.

I deleted all files except index.html in xoops-data\cashes\smarty-compile.

It's still coming up as a blank ascren.

XOOPS Version: 2.4.4
Module Name/Version: system
PHP Version: 5.2.13
MySQL Version: 5.1.46-log
Web Server Software (Apache/IIS/Other): Apache
Operating System: Linux
Theme you are using: Not sure. That's part of the problem
Custom template: (Yes/No) NO
PHP Debug Messages:
MySQL Debug Messages:
Smarty Debug Messages:
User Experience Level: Noobie. Just got a book on php from the library, light HTML ability.

About the two zip files:
xoopsmodinfo.zip and xoopsscriptinfo.zip are both empty files, and the links say the file doesn't exist

A full description of the issue:

Please help me. I'm pretty shafted here. I'm having what I think is a theme related problem, but regardless of what it is, I can't see anything but whitepace on my top page. If I go to the admin.php to log in to my administrator account, I get a XOOPS error saying I don't have permission to veiw that page then I get redirected to a blank, white page. I've also tried browsing to user.php but that page is blank as well, and I cn't think of anything else I can do to get a login screen or even the block so I can gain access to my site and try to correct the issues. The worst part of this is, if I wasn't having a theme issue and could see the login block on teh top page, I wouldn't have a problem. (Unless i really SCREWED UP and borked the permissions to that block) I could just log in and fix the issue. BUT, I can't see anything and my usual method is permission restricted.

I still have FTP access to everything, so is there a doument in teh XOOPS system that i can download, modify and upload so I can regain access or maybe change what theme is used (Force the site to use the default theme)? do I need to change a record in the Database?

I'm a Noobie, with just a little HTML under my belt and no experience with sql or php, so please dummy down any advice.
Thank you!

Theme related problem. When I use default or (Usually) zetagenesis I have no problem seeing the home page. When I change the theme, the home page displays NOTHING but whitespace. No menus, no margins, nothing. I never have any way to predict when this will happen, it's not always triggered by the same theme. However, to fix it I have to reset the theme to Default. What's happening to prevent the display of any Top page elements? Now, it's also worth noting that I have not added any blocks to the top page, it's just the default menus and login stuff, and no banners. If I delete all the themes from the site, will it default back to default? if there a file I can modify and upload to the site to force a different theme?

At the moment, I cannot access my site, someting about not having permissions to view the admin.php page which I'm about to request help for in another post.

Hey, Me too! The Homeowners association I'm building a site for has expressed an interest in a 6-person video conferencing ability. Does anyone know if anyone had developed a module for that?

IT'S FIXED!!!!!

I found the problem. A Security setting was on and for some knuckleheaded reason it was disallowing the download of images. Here's the skinny for those of you who understand this stuff.

HotLink protection prevents other websites from directly linking to files (as specified below) on your website. Other sites will still be able to link to any file type that you don't specify below (ie. html files). An example of hotlinking would be using a <img> tag to display an image from your site from somewhere else on the net. The end result is that the other site is stealing your bandwidth. You should ensure that all sites that you wish to allow direct links from are in the list below. This system attempts to add all sites it knows you own to the list, however you may need to add others.

Holy Crimney! I can't believe the difference!

I just installed Xoops on a XAMPP server on my laptop and I can't believe the difference between this and both of my hosted sites. Now I'm totally lost.

I"ll re-check the settings on my domain. THe issue MUST be there.

I'm sorry, ghia. I should not have assumed that if I just threw login credentials at you that you'd go look at my site to help me.

That was horribly rude of me, and I'm sorry. I've been really stressed about this project and while I have a lot of time invested in using Xoops to build a website, the fact hat I've had three critical crashes where I need to reinstall from scratch (Before I established the Production Domain) and now I have this image display problem.

I think my most significant problems are the facts that I'm not a Programmer and this is my first true attempt at web mastering. So far I'm barely a web apprentice.

I think what I'm going to do is delete the Domain files and let all that clear for a few days while I set up a XAMPP server on my local machine. If the problem persists, I'll make a new post.

I sincerely hope you accept my apologies, ghia. I do appreciate the help you've offered me in recent weeks.

Thank you,

Yes, ghia, but it's slightly different now. THe banner in the upper left corner is out of position by half it's width too far right, and other graphics will not display, excpet fopr the Protector Module logoplate.

I do so wish I could atatch a screenshot, but I don't have the Kharma.

I"ve created a GuestAdmin account. There's no actual information on te site, so there's no violation of Privacy.

I'll PM the info to you so you can poke aroundif you like. I just don't knwo how to accurately describe what i'm experienceing here.

Yup! After following the links Mambo gave, the document is XL-001 written for Xoops 2.4.0. I didn't see it in my release notes because my search for "Release Notes", "Release 2.4.4" didn't produce anything, so I thought the release notes I needed to read were the notes included in the root of the Xoops 2.4.4 download.

I'll read through it and let you know how it runs.
