Brian,
I appreciate all the work you are putting into replying here. Some updated info on my error problem.

1. I have tried a variety of paths including:
var/www/xoops/modules/dms/repository
www/xoops/modules/dms/repository
var/www/xoops/uploads

my full path from my mainfile.php
/webdocs/school-hosting/torresstraitislands/thurislashs/www/xoops/modules/dms/repository

and many others....

2. I definately have 777 permissions on the repository folder.

3. I can see a "1" folder inside the repository folder which may have been created or not - not sure.

4.I have these settings in my php.ini file (I have no control over this file)

file_uploads On On
upload_max_filesize 2M 2M
upload_tmp_dir /var/tmp/upload /var/tmp/upload

I have tried many different files or varying sizes.

I always get the same error:
Error: Unable to move file.
SP:/var/tmp/upload/php014426
DP:/webdocs/school-hosting/torresstraitislands/thurislashs/www/xoops/modules/dms/repository/1/1/1/400001.dat

You can substitute any path into that last error section depending on what I enter. Do you have any more ideas on this one as I think the mod would be perfect for my needs.
Cheers

PS. Can I check if apache has read write permissions to /var/tmp/upload without access to the server apart from phpinfo()???

Thanks guys,
I now have at least the default theme working. The theme I made changes on (only minor - just link paths on some buttons in the header) still comes up blank. I have tried it several times deleting the cache every time but I still get nothing but text. The theme is imago06

If you make changes to the theme.html in your theme should you:
1. Flick the button in question to yes
2. Upload changed theme files.
3. View them.
4. Change button back to no

Is that the procedure?

I was messing with a theme and thought I would try ticking the box in admin/preferences/general settings marked update module template.html files. Once I did this and returned to my home page I had lost all graphics and backgrounds. I tried turning it back off but I have the same result. I also tried a different theme but all i get now is text and know graphics or backgrounds. What have I done and how do i fix it...Help??

registered globals prob

I am having a little trouble with a mod (mrbs) that seems to want registered globals turned on. Not having control of the server means I am unable to do this. I seem to remember a bit of script you could add to each page that would allow you to navigate around this issue. Is there such a bit of script and if so could any kind person let me know it?
Cheers

I know this is a second try but I thought a new thread might provoke someones interest in this problem.

I am running mrbs as a module on XOOPS and e-xoops, both on the same server. The server is running php4 with registered global turned off. The version on e-xoops works fine but the version on XOOPS does not.

The XOOPS version loads fine and creates the correct tables etc but does not allow you to add an area (this problem was stated earlier). I have even tried running up the version from e-xoops onto XOOPS but had the same problem (both versions appear to be the same).

This would seem to isolate the problem to something to do with the way this mod interacts with xoops. I have tried the bluetopia site but there is no-one answering the problem there. Has anyone managed to solve this problem or does anyone have an idea where the problem may lie. I am desperate to find the solution as it is a useful mod when working properly.

I am getting this error after trying to upload to the repository int he DMS mod

Error: Unable to move file.
SP:/var/tmp/upload/php009993
DP:/www/xoops/modules/dms/repository/1/1/1/700001.dat

I have read the previous thread on this but I am not using a trailing slash after the repostiory folder and the repository folder definately has read/write permissions. Is there any other possible problems holding me back?

Hate to bring up an old thread but was just wondering if there is a solution to this problem yet. I can also add this info.

Have installed the MRBS (meeting room booking service). Everything seems fine, group permissions etc. Can not seem to add a room for booking. Anyone else suffered the same prob.
