I was messing around with the menu blocks on my site and I appear to have somehow made my logon block invisible.
http://mysite/user.php gives me a blank page and
http://mysite/admin.php gives me a "sorry you don't have permissions" and sends me back to the home page.
It seems like I will need to delve into the database to make it visible again....any ideas where to look?

I was looking to remove many of the options in the edit acount form (i.e. icq, msn, etc). Does anyone know which file I should be looking at. I have had a go at a few but I don't seem to be getting the right one.

I used the original script (slightly changed) to do the job but I realised I need the users added to 2 groups. I had a look at the changed script you made and in reference to this section:
//Add user in group
$numgroup ='2';
$query = "INSERT INTO xoops_groups_users_link (groupid, uid) VALUES('$numgroup', '$uid')";
$result= mysql_query($query);
If I wanted to add the user to 2 groups when running the script (lets say groups 2 and 6) how would I change the script to make this happen? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot for the reply brash. I had a feeling this was the problem. I was using e-xoops up until recently but changed to XOOPS for this site I am working on. I had not seen the issue before either. I agree it does make it a bit clunky but I suppose I can use the same strategies you have to get around the issue. Thanks again for the help.

I have just come across an issue I am hoping someone can help with. I have just bulk uploaded a bunch of users to my site and I have found that once I did this I lost the ability to add users to another group. In other words when I go to admin>system>groups and then press on modify for a group I no longer get the full display at the bottom with users to select from. I just get this:
I tried deleting 80% of the users I had added and the system returned to normal. My questions would be then
1. Is this an issue with the amount of user ie. once you reach a certain amount you no longer have the ability to add users to groups?
2. Is this more likely somehing to do with one of the users having some kind of corruption?
Any help appreciated

I mainly needed to know if those last 4 entries were vital but it appears from your new script that they are not necessary. I pretty much have worked out the script and have added other things I needed for mine so it looks like it will work ok. Thanks for all the help this will save me a lot of work.
