OK - this is officially weird. The block are now displaying in the correct order without me actually having done anything!!


In fact the only the only change to my web space was the addition of a new XOOPS site (latest version). Maybe this had something to do with it. Or not. Just glad that all is as it should be now.

It's a simple task of
1. logging into the administration menu
2. select modules administration
3. under each logo is a box with the name of the module - simply click in this box and over type the current module name with the one you want.
4. scroll to the bottom and press submit
5. the confirmation page will appear with the changes you want to make in RED.
6. if everything is ok then press submit.
7. job done!!

This is what I am doing.

The problem is that the order of the blocks when displayed is wrong.

The blocks should be displaying by column and then weight (for example all the visible left column blocks listed first, then all the right column blocks and so on.
This displays correctly for all groups EXCEPT for anonymous users when selecting either visible=yes or visible=no !!!!

I have an unusual problem with the blocks on one of my sites.....
In blocks admin when I view all the visible blocks they display in the correct order (by placement and then by weight).
When I then change to just 'Anonymous users' the block order is mixed up. It looks as though it is displaying in the order of the modules in the groups view!!!
This also affects the display order on the main site as well - the right hand column displays one order when visiting and another order when logged in!
Any ideas where I can look / fix this?

No so much a solution - just another way of doing things.

You could create a user group called 'banned' and set no access to this group at all (i.e. no module access, no block access) and move the unwanted users into this group.

They could still browse the site as an anonymous user but as soon as they log-in they would just get pages showing only the header & footer of the site with no permission to view anything.

Try checking the <your_prefix>_config table in phpmyadmin.
Change the 'debug' value to 1 to turn on debugging and see if any error messages appear.
Also have a check at session_expire (value is in minutes).

Check the 'session' table as well just in case it has become corrupt.

Just another thought. If you still can't get to create a page then turn on de-bug and see if any errors are showing up.

Did you perhaps just try surrounding the text with the following :<i> Your text in here </i>?
I have not used mastop but I think this may work.

When in the module admin try clicking on 'admin index'. This should then display the page management page which will have a 'create page' link.
