i'm sorry, i don't mean to keep bumping this thread, but it is important that i have this figured out.
i am using XOOPS as a very important communications tool and the ability for me to force the activation of global new story postings in the news (1.4) module is detrimental to its effectiveness.
if anyone can point us in the right direction on how to carry this out it would be GREATLY appreciated.

that controls whether they want to be notified by email or private message.
i'm lookin for how to set the notification on for the news modules.
i already forced email updates by updating the user prefs table for notification type.
i want to set the notification for new stories on in the news module for all users.
currently, users login, and set that option manually. that option has to be stored somewhere, but i can't find out where...

the preference setting for user selected notification for the news module must be stored somewhere? i suspect it is a flag or some king, but i can't find which table it is.
i'd like to do a simple update query to set the flag for this feature on all users.
anyone know how and where i can do this?

i realize this has to be done via sql queries. I have done the query to enable notification by email on all XOOPS user accounts.
what i'm looking for now is the table / field to modify for all users to that they do have the Global new story notification on.
i appreciate any help you can provide
