I simply want to allow different groups (sales, homeoffice, northoffice, exec, delivery, etc.) access to different files in different directories based on their login group names. The following is used for admin in the user menu, but where do I get the name or number of the 14 plus custom groups (still in design) I have designed so that I can place them in the main or user menu. By doing it this way the files are visiable only to the group they belong to and no one else knows they exist.

<{if $block.admin}>
<a href="<{$xoops_url}>/admin.php"><{$block.lang_adminmenu}></a>
<a href="<{$xoops_url}>/lists/admin/index.php" target=_blank>Mailing List Admin</a>
<a href="<{$xoops_url}>/transportation/index.php" target=_blank>View Driver Bonus</a>
<{/if}>

These files come from seperate subdirectories I have installed in the root directory of the site and are not modules as such. They all use different MySQL db's or tables, but I don't have the expertise to code them into different modules.

custom blocks in 2.2.4 cross linked

the custom blocks in 2.2.4 cross files the information you place in the [edit template] portion of the template with every custom block on the site. However, if you place your info in the front side of the block everything works properly. Once info has been placed in the back side of the [edit template]block it cannot be removed... it can be changed but not removed. You must delete the template and re-clone it to get it to work. From the back side of the edit area all custom templates are tied together.

second problem with custom templates in 2.2.4:
when I placed several items in the custom template and linked them to additional pages on the site, they worked perfectly until I upgraded to 2.2.4. Now the path shows -
http://www.rplcnm.org/<{$xoops_url}>/gravis/tom.php

the code to this item shows -
<a href="<{$xoops_url}>/gravis/tom.php"><img src="<{$xoops_imageurl}>images/buttons/ino.jpg" width="8" height="8"/>&nbsp;&nbsp;Tom</a><br><br>

this has worked perfectly until now... it just quit working today and only in the custom blocks. when I correct the problem (remove the smarty varable <{$xoops_url}> )in the address line of the browser it links properly... but shows that I'm a guest and only shows the main menu on the left. when I click [home] on the mainmenu it returns me to the correct theme page and shows me logged in properly.

my server info follows:
redhat-linux
apache 2.0
php 4.4.0
mysql 4.1.14
cgi support
mod_perl support
using a modified version of the default theme

I have liaise, kshop, myalbum, newbb, pical, popnupblog, smartmedia, smartfaq, content, and webcam installed modules.

I had multimenu installed, but it isn't compatable with 2.2.4. I used it previously with earlier versions... it just doesn't work with the upgrade. It has been removed from site.

What do I do?

I tried submitting this a module bug, but everything just goes to a white page and no confirmation one way or the other.

I have the site back working and the custom blocks showing their proper info, but the bug still exists.

I had to go to the cloned templates and delete the custom block template. Then I re-generated it. It now works properly. I tried to duplicate this situation and it does the same thing. Therefore, the bug still crawls... At least I know how to correct it now.

Hope this helps someone else.
Incidently, in the above reply I forgot to tell you that my site has no custom modified modules...

once again, My Thanks to all of the XOOPS teams.

my server info follows:
redhat-linux-gnu
apache 2.0 handler
I used it previously with earlier versions... it just doesn't work. It has been removed from site.

Had previous versions 2.0.??, upgraded to 2.2.3 and installed some custom blocks. I noticed that if you place info into the custom [edit template] area all become the same. However, when you remove the code from that side it reverts to normal. You can place your info on the front side of the edit block but not the [edit template] area.
when I changed to 2.2.4 everything upgraded properly. When adding two new custom blocks, I placed the info in the [edit template] side to see if that had now worked (knowing from the previous version it could be corrected). It now cannot be corrected. I cannot remove the info, I can change it, but not remove it. I have even deleted all custom blocks and reinstalled with no luck. It (the same info) is still there. I have the update templates in the [general][preferences] clicked on.

When inserting more than one custom block on the site, each block takes on the sames information as the first block. Is there a way to correct this. I need multiple custom blocks through out the site.

Many Thanks

I got the multimenu from your link, shows ver 1.7.6 but I still do not have any way to add info to the menus... it simply does not showup anywhere.

I am using XOOPS 2.2.4 and there is no preferences, or module admin for multimenu in the site administration menus ... you must go to the module on your frontpage to find any way to work the menu. However, there still isn't any way to add info to a menu.

I have tried taking the info from the main menu and just coping it into the multimenu1 template and it will not show a preview or anything.

Please Some Help

I think your link is wrong. It appears to be a lawn and garden site. Please let me know.

when I installed multimenu 1.7.? on my site and looked for an admin area to add content to each of the eight menus. There simply isn't one. Am I missing something... I have updated the module through [module][admin] and nothing? I think this is the way to go, but don't have a clue of how to get there.

How do you make a horizontal menu with dropdown sub menu's that are visible according to the XOOPS group requirments and where do you go to imput the content within the menu? Or [simply taking the mainmenu and locating it horizontally above the block loops].

Thanks,
john b

You are correct... there is help in placing the menu into the theme page, but no documentation in placing it horizontally, and I cannot find any documentation in placing the data in the actual menu itself.

Appreciate your help,
