I have a xoops-redirect issue, not sure it's a bug or not, posted at
https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=18862&forum=21

and I agree to do something about the log-in problem that agaist some firewall software.

Alos for new registartion, it is not bad to add a birthday so we can celebrate the babies of this month, right? (I did see someone asked this for in the forum...)

I agree that is a firewall issue - I myself use ZoneAlarm (freeware) and I sometimes got block (log-in failed)even I put my site to the tristed list - after I turned the firewall off everything back to normal. Some of my users have the same problem and I asked them to turn firewall off, it works then.

Xoops-Redirect - trim truncated

I did a search in the forum but did not see such a topic.
I have a members only page of photo album (myalbum) that was hand-coded to my own block in the homepage with the specific URL;

say it's
..../modules/myalbum/viewcat.php?cid=3&orderby=dateA

when user trys to access this link, if he/she is not logged in, they are supposed to see the user log-in page (user.php) and is ready to redirect to that page after log-in.

Here come the problem:

the URL in the user.php page only trim to the .php, not the parameters, it's -

/user.php?xoops_redirect=%2Fmodules%2Fmyalbum%2Fviewcat.php

so even the user logged in, they are pointed to nowhere.

I checked the code in user.php

Quote:

if (isset($HTTP_GET_VARS['xoops_redirect'])) {
$xoopsTpl->assign('redirect_page', htmlspecialchars(trim($HTTP_GET_VARS['xoops_redirect']), ENT_QUOTES));

but where is the problem?

Is this a bug or just a nature of this Xoops-redirect?

Thanks in advanced.

Agreed. Good luck there!

I don't know where this comes from....
Honestly i don't like XOOPS guestbooks very much so,as last option i should install a non-module guestbook since it has always to be open for anonymous users too and backend area is not really important,in my opinion.
regards.

ralf57,

I did all I can do but no good luck.
I even tried fresh new installations and modules, seems I have to drop this module if this can't be fixed....

Hi guys,

I have a question - originally I was working on TinyContent, and realized I got some comments on some particular topics. My question is how do you break a very long thread (comments) into "pages"? I guess this could be a very useful function to all popular topics.

(I see Forum has this pages function already but not see them under other module's comments...)

Hi (svaha)

Yes I DO see the page links on top of the guestbook -
(page) (1) 2 3 »
and you can click on them, the URL did return new value, says "..../myguestbook/index.php?start=10" or 20, 30
but the results are all the same -- it always stays on the FIRST page -- no matter what page links you clicked.

I did start a fresh install (new XOOPS + new guestbook) and run it in pure English versions as I described in my original thread (FYI, the server is in English mode only). No good luck, they are all the same, I don't think it's the non-english issue.

Also,
I have turned on debug mode (php/mySQL/Smarty Temp...)
No error found! This is just too weird.

Thanks guys,
1. no cloaked URL, it's real and long URLs from A to Z.
2. Did contact the Author and obtained a revised template, reinstall but the results the same....

Hope someone has the same enviroment and give me a clue.
