Re: {$xoops_imageurl} Problem

<!-- Start center-center blocks loop -->

    </

    <!--
End center-center blocks loop -->

ok, the absolute first thing I would check is that that string replace is producing the proper file name.

try this, in your template file just _echo_ the new file name so you can see what the filename it produces looks like:

try this:

<{$xoops_imageurl}><{$block.title|replace:" ":"_"}>_image3.gif

look at the end result and ensure that the proper _case_ is being produced. If your webserver is *nix based, it _is_ case sensative. If the file name your code is producing is not an exact match, case and letters, you've found your problem.

Theme Design Q & A - Ask your questions here

Ok, I decided to start a theme design Q & A. Ask any question you want, I'll try my best to answer them. This includes any design questions for Xoops, including module templates.

I've spent a great deal of time developing themes for clients, so now yours chance to learn my secrets.

Ask away, I'll try my best to respond to each one.

Re: Changing Default Theme

Can you explain your problem a bit more, not sure I totally understand what you want. Include a few screen shots if you can.

Re: {$xoops_imageurl} Problem

Yep, to ensure the file is included from the correct location in the css file, I would use a full path instead of just the image name, but that's just a minor adjustment

Re: newbb 2.0.1 unable to delete topics

Not sure of the problem, but trying submitting the problem to http://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfmod/tracker/?group_id=1001&atid=104 so you can be sure Preditor gets the bug. Forums can sometimes be missed unintentionally :)

Re: Searching For Auto - Generated Email Php Coding

That e-mail is generated by a setting found in the root XOOPS folder under languages/mail_templates/register.tpl

Re: Xcgallery - reg'd users cant upload to default categories?

I believe the answer is, users can only upload to folders you give them upload access to. But your question will be answered by the dev if you post it at http://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfmod/project/?group_id=1156

I use it all the time, it indeed does work provided you use it IN a template file parsed by smarty.

Shouldn't it also work in a theme file? I'm not sure I follow what you mean with using it in a template file.

Yes, by template file I mean themes.html, theme_block_right.html etc.

Smarty does NOT parse included css files like styles.css.

please post the exact theme file you are trying to get this to workin, and the exact path to the image file you are trying to use as a background and I will give you the code.

Re: Duplication of Blocks (Unwanted)

If you are feeling brave and have access to PHPmyAdmin look in the following tables for duplicates.

xoops_newblocks - this is the table that holds the block info

xoops_tplsource - this stores the templates for the blocks

xoops_tplfile - this holds the link for the template file to it's module

xoops_block_module_link - this holds the info for the link between the block and it's parent module.

BE WARNED you can seriously damage your XOOPS install if you delete the wrong rows. Just be very observent of the rows and their ID's and you'll see the common denominators.

no problem, glad to help.

I'm considering holding a XOOPS theme Q & A on some chat server where I'll answer any questions people have about theme development and customing module templates. Just need to find a decent Chat service to get a room from.
