Go to System Admin -> Edit User. From there you will see the "Add User" Table just below the "Edit/Delete User" Table. From there you can add users without going through the activation process.

To complete the process, you can probably disable new user registration from the General Settings.

Hi Mithrandir,

I found it!

After you found cp_functions.php, I changed 'themecenterposts' from there, but it did not work. I was thinking that this function is probably cached somewhere. After updating modules and system, I came to the most logical conclusion: this function is probably called from another php file!

Using your lead, I looked in the different files in the /includes/ folder. Finally, I found another instance of the 'themecenterposts' function in the /includes/old_theme_functions.php file. I changed it and the changes took effect.

I finally found my elusive <td>.

Go to System Admin -> Groups and Modify Anonymous User group. Give "Module Access Rights" to the Anonymous users. Just check the box of the module you want anonymous access.

This type of hacking is called defacement. It is probably still related to the worldwide hacking/defacement contest going on. Target for each group is 6,000 sites.

I was recently hacked/defaced, but after discovering that only index.php files were affected, I just re-uploaded index files from my local computer. Do not 'transfer' files from the same server. Their scripts look for all index named files and convert it to the defaced page, thus, defacement is often server wide.

Allegedly, they used a security flaw in apache and/or linux. Others say the entry point is Post-Nuke and myPHPNuke. I really don't know.

Go to System Admin -> Groups and check or uncheck the modules you want to give to both anonymous and registered users.

Try to search the forums first. This is a fairly common newbie problem.

Hi,

That's not a 'bug', but what the Recent Topics block is supposed to do. It will just provide the title of the article and the date.

If you see sites where the News is available with the topic/subtopic in the title and the intro text, they made the News module their front page. Look at XOOPS, check the URL, you will see it has /modules/news/ there. That's because the News is the front page module.

Go to Admin Menu -> System Admin -> Preferences -> General Settings and choose the News Module as front page.

In the Admin Control Panel, go to System -> Preferences -> General Settings and change the setting "Module for your start page" to "News".

By default, forum moderators that are not webmasters can only delete, move, lock and make "sticky" a full thread. They do not have rights to edit individual posts.

Here's a NewBB Hack that might interest you.
