Hi, I have 2 problems with MyLinks 3.11

Problem 1), Lets say I have 200 total links with numerous categories. If I modify 1 link from a category with 20 links, the total count drops to 199 and the category count drops to 19. The link is still there in that category and is still searchable site wide it just no longer contributes towards the link counts. After modification it also is moved to the top of the recently added list which I think is wrong. I believe this is also a problem in EXTGallery 1.11

Problem 2), When adding a link, if I put this text in the description field:
It's a great site

I get this in the description:
It/'s a great site

Problem 2 is making me modify my link descriptions which in turn I'm losing my post count.

This has been a problem for quite some time and I have just simply not used that punctuation in my descriptions but I think it would be great if we could fix the problem.

I'm using:
Xoops 2.5.5
Apache 2.2.23
MySQL 5.0.96-community
PHP 5.3.17

Cheers,
Marty.

Yes, and no.

Yes, you can copy the MyLinks tables directly into your Site 2 (new site) just like a restore from Site 1.

HOWEVER:

1) Comments from Site 1 won't follow to Site 2.

2) You may end up with permissions problems (depending on the version of MyLinks you're using) if your groups between Site 1 and Site 2 are different.

Thanks zyspec, I think the prefix is different also. I think it would be easier if I just insert them all manually. It's not a big collection, only a couple of hundred. Be done in an hour or 2. It was an attempt at laziness lol

Cheers,
Marty.

so i was right and you dont know your correct server time.
It is a very very common issue. when you wrongly enter a server time you have issues.
you need to enter your default local time and do not change it because you are sure about the time zone in wherever place you live!

Actually, my server time was and still is correct and wont be changing at -5hrs. My local time at +10 was also and still is correct...nothing has changed from when I had the problem to now apart from it now works...kinda strange huh.

Maybe there was a server issue and the server clock went out of whack for a day or 2.

Anyway, my setting are back to where they started and all is good

Yes, site2 has the MyLinks module but it is empty (zero links in it).

So, I download the MyLinks tables from the mysql db on site1 and then just upload them to the mysql db on site2 using phpmyadmin?

Sort of like doing a backup of site1 and restore to site2?

Different domain names is irrelevant?

Hi, I have a number of websites that I want to merge into one.

Is it possible to import the data from one xoops website into another xoops website. For instance I want to take all the "MyLinks Module" data from one site and put it onto another site and then discard the first site.

Is there an easy way to do this without having to input each link manually?

Thanks in advance,
Marty.

I have noticed this has happened with My Links also.

Try to set them all the same, and see if it makes a difference.

Hi Mamba, this is very strange, I changed the 3 settings all to -5 and the website posted -15hrs. I then changed the 3 settings to +10hrs and the website again posted -15hrs.

I then set the server time to -5hrs, the default time to -5hrs and my profile time to +10hrs and it worked. The website is now posting in my time zone. I then changed my profile time to -9hrs and the post time changed accordingly...AWESOME!!

I still however have the problem of a guest seeing an incorrect post time if they have not set their correct time zone in their profile.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Marty.

Could this be a server setting rather than a website specific setting?
