The Big Story block is determined by a news item's counter.
Every time someone views the news article this sets the counter up 1.

SO that means the Big Story block will show whichever news item is most read by your users.

This means you cannot set the Big Story yourself...

Hope that helps,

You should be able to simply edit mainfile.php after you move everything to the root dir.

if you edit this file, you will see XOOPS_ROOT_PATH and XOOPS_URL

change both to reflect the new location.

That should be it in most cases.

aremike is right. You need to decreas the width of the center image by at least 150-250 pixels.

Im guessing you see the site fullscreen without having to scroll to see the right blocks.

This tells me that you are running at a resolution above 1024x768.

You should run at 1024x768 if you are going to design web sites and want to see what others will see since the majority of users on the internet run at 1024x768 or lower.

Personally, I would make sure the site doesnt go beyond 800 pixels wide, but stretches to any resolution.

Hope that helps a little more.

Cheers,

can this be used to install over the existing poll module - to store exisiting ones?

Yeah, I think you can install it right over, keeping the polls.

But it doesnt work very well with the block in blind mode and is simply a tiny hack on the poll module xoops.org uses.

I wouldnt really recommend it for general purposes.

twitaman simply requested something like it.

use at your own risk :)

Yeah, as it is, you prolly cannot run more than one poll at a time. and you would need to manually turn off the 'election' mode. When you do want to show results.

Hey its not perfect, and was never meant for release. But hey, you could always tweak it to release a version that works for more situations.

Best Regards,

I have started work on a XOOPS JukeBox Module.

The JukeBox module will allow your site to have a playlist and admins/users can upload MP3 files. It will include an MP3 player so any XOOPS site can have a JukeBox with this.

Put on your ears and get ready! :)

Just an update...

I have Profiles v0.9 ready to go and am now working on XOOPS JukeBox.

(side note: alot of people might think the Profiles module is just for extending User Profiles. It is not. It is a seperate application and is not meant to replace the User Profiles. It simply allows your site to profile anything with a picture and text block, etc.)

The JukeBox module will allow your site to have a playlist and admins/users can upload MP3 files. It will include an MP3 player so any XOOPS site can have a JukeBox with this.

I will then merge Profiles and JukeBox into Artists Profiles.

This will add MP3 track management and mp3 player to the Profiles module after these two are merged into yet a 3rd module.

SO when all is done, we will have:

Profiles Module
JukeBox Module
Artist Profile Module

Hope that clears up whats happening here. Its going fairly well.

Now if only could find some more sponsors, then maybe I could focus on this work. But otherwise, I will be working on it as time permits.

So far, ScriptFu has been very generous.

Thats the update so far...

Have a great day!

Yes and no.

xoopsTree is part of the XOOPS code library. and its has 100% support for category/breadcrumbs... so any module can utilize this feature. Alot do such as WF-Downloads, etc...

Its just that XOOPS core itself does not make use of the XoopsTree class too much, so thats why there are no breadcrumbs by default.

That is, if every module you used supported xoopsTree, then you would get the result most people are looking for with using breadcrumbs.

But alot of modules do not need categories (xoopsTree) so the breadrumb sipport accross the site is sporadic. The modules that need it do support breadcrumbs.

Nothing wrong with it either. It makes for a very flexible system.

XOOPS Rocks.
