Thanks Christian!

I've tried the 3 display modes but the main forum still shows 0 topics & 0 posts.

If its on expand mode you can see the sub forums do actually have entries but the main forum is still showing no entries and it looks bad.

I tried a synchronisation to see is that could help and it returned this message:

"Get error 134 from table handler"

Is this related?

Thanks!

Newbb not showing subforum posts on index page

My Newbb forum is set up with several forums having sub forums. On the index page of newbb, any forum with subforums is shown as having 0 posts and 0 topics.

If you click on the forum you will see the list of sub forums and it correctly displays the number of posts & topics in each but not many users will bother to click through to the sub forum menu when the main forum is showing 0 posts.

All forums that do not contain sub forums display the No. of posts/topics correctly.

Can anyone figure the reason for this?

Thanks!

Which Modules give best Google Page Rank?

I'd like to throw this one open to all out there with experience in a XOOPS site

It seems that Google PR can vary quite a lot between modules. I am building a new site and was going to use CBB forum for a good deal of the content but I have just seen that ALL forum topics return a PR of 0, even here on the XOOPS site - that's got me worried

So now I thinking to build the site around other more Google-friendly modules - it seems like Xpress is good for example.

Do people have any thoughts on this?

Success!!! It worked and it was exactly that problem - not all files in Framweorks had uploaded properly.

I uploaded the files individually and now all is fine.

So don't blame Oz's connection speeds - Shanghai is just as bad!

Can't wait to now start to play with wordpress.

Thanks a lot for your help Darin, its been driving me crazy all weekend!!!

Hi Darin

Yeh I put the Framworks folder in that place and the wordpress folder I uploaded in to modules was "wordpress"

Cheers!

Hey Darin

Thanks a lot for the advice!

At first I didn't have frameworks but stumbled across it and have uploaded it (in to the maindirectory of the site - right?) - but Xpress still doesn't work.

I've re-installed both Xpress 2.05 and Frameworks but the wordpress module is just a blank - its icons dispays on the admin/modules page and its blocks display on admin/blocks page but the icon doesn't display on the left hand column of admin pages and the module itself is just a blank.

I thought it might be the '.htaccess' thing but my web host guys say they allow htaccess files. Having said that my CuteFTP does not show the htaccess file as being in the modules/wordpress folder, although when I try and upload the file again I get a message saying 'file already exists'

I know my descriptions aren't too technical (as you guessed I'm new - but keen!!!)

But can anyone guess the problem??

Thanks again

Cozzie

I can't properly install Wordpress 2.05

When I try to install it gives me:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: load_functions() in ....../include/functions.ini.php on line 105

functions.ini.php line 105 reads:

load_functions("locale");

Can anyone help me? I've tried uninstalling/re-installing a lot of times but its not helping.

Thanks!!!

Pre-existing database: can it be part of a Xoops site?

This problem is a little similar to the FAQ: "Can I include my pre-existing html pages in to a XOOPS site?" but it concerns php pages generated from a user search

I have a php/msql database which users can search. I really want to incude it in to a XOOPS controlled site but I can't see how it can be done.

I want to use XOOPS so that users can add comments to each page (using CommentAny or a similar module) and ALSO allowing the most recent comments to appear on the homepage.

I tried a wrap/include module as suggested for html pages (myiframe). This does allow the search to be viewed inside the new XOOPS site but it results in all the search generated php having the same URL - meaning (I guess) Comments cannot be added nor featured on the homepage.

I hope I've explained this ok, if it would help to see the site to understand the problem let me know

I really need to know if this is possible, if not I guess I'll have to accept I can't use XOOPS and develop a tailor made cms but I really don't want to do this as XOOPS is so great for so many reasons.

Thanks a lot for any help -this prolem is killing me
