I can't properly install Wordpress 2.05

When I try to install it gives me:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: load_functions() in ....../include/functions.ini.php on line 105

functions.ini.php line 105 reads:

load_functions("locale");

Can anyone help me? I've tried uninstalling/re-installing a lot of times but its not helping.

Thanks!!!

I see you are new to XOOPS Cozzie, now I really don't know what exactly is wrong but have you uploaded Frameworks to your site, even if it is not the problem it is needed for other modules.

I am only answering cos I just installed Xpress and there were no problems.

Cheers....Darin ;o)

Edit: I really should put a link to Frameworks info

Hey Darin

Thanks a lot for the advice!

At first I didn't have frameworks but stumbled across it and have uploaded it (in to the maindirectory of the site - right?) - but Xpress still doesn't work.

I've re-installed both Xpress 2.05 and Frameworks but the wordpress module is just a blank - its icons dispays on the admin/modules page and its blocks display on admin/blocks page but the icon doesn't display on the left hand column of admin pages and the module itself is just a blank.

I thought it might be the '.htaccess' thing but my web host guys say they allow htaccess files. Having said that my CuteFTP does not show the htaccess file as being in the modules/wordpress folder, although when I try and upload the file again I get a message saying 'file already exists'

I know my descriptions aren't too technical (as you guessed I'm new - but keen!!!)

But can anyone guess the problem??

Thanks again

Cozzie

Frameworks should be uploaded to where you see these folders,

cache
class
common
extras
Frameworks
images
etc

When you extracted the wordpress module from it's downloaded archive what folder did you upload to modules? Please write the folder name you uploaded.

I am only asking these questions as I am not sure how experienced you are with XOOPS ;o)

Cheers

Hi Darin

Yeh I put the Framworks folder in that place and the wordpress folder I uploaded in to modules was "wordpress"

Cheers!

Ok cool you know what you are doing ;o)

The only other thing I can think of is that Frameworks hasn't uploaded properly. When I first installed it quite a while ago now, I can remember uploading the whole "Farmeworks" folder in one go. This didn't seem to upload all files, now this could have been a local problem or a host problem, I really don't know.

I then went into Frameworks and uploaded each folder and the files individually. Time consuming yes but this worked for me. Maybe the FTP connection was timing out or just plain screwed. There are a lot of files to upload maybe the slow connections we have in Oz just couldn't handle it all in one go lol.

I really don't know what else it could be.

Cheers

Success!!! It worked and it was exactly that problem - not all files in Framweorks had uploaded properly.

I uploaded the files individually and now all is fine.

So don't blame Oz's connection speeds - Shanghai is just as bad!

Can't wait to now start to play with wordpress.

Thanks a lot for your help Darin, its been driving me crazy all weekend!!!
