Re: In the beginning ....

Give this visual introduction to xoops a try. Then take a look at the beginners first steps FAQ section. These two things will help your understanding of how XOOPS works. I didn't know the first thing about code and still don't know much but have had my XOOPS site for a coupls of years. You will need to develop some new skills but be patient and you will get there.

Re: DB error

Your web host most likely gave youa ccess to your database through phpmyadmin - log in to your website hosts management (not xoops) and click on the phpMyAdmin - you should be able to simply click on a 'check and repair database' for your XOOPS tables. Give this a try.

It was you who 'shouted' for 'any' suggestion!

Re: Private message error, please help!!!

Did you update your xoops? Doing this may well resolve your pm error.

Re: Site messed up??

Please check the read before you post below and give us more information about your site setup You will also need to be much more specific about 'some modules' - which ones exactly and what specifically do they do?

Re: added a theme and the site kicked me out as admin

Be sure to check the FAQ on white pages when this happens!

Re: Adding database to Xoops

Adding a DB is something you probably need to look up 'myphpadmin' or 'mysql' help sites on. I then suspect the question is how to use this data with XOOPS and that I am afraid I have no suggestion for. Why exactly do you want to put this data into your xoops? What do you want to do with it? Depending on these answers you may need to learn about writing simple modules - and if that is the case you can search that here as there were some simple tutorials kicking around. Try the FAQ on modules section.

Guys, come on help...
A tip for you: why doesn't anyone answer my post

Your post is buried in a title 'help' - most who can help you will likely bypass it.

Another tip - use search - how to upgrade XOOPS - but you can also get this my going to 'home' and clicking on 'get the latest XOOPS version' here

Then there is the need to back up your site first, (instructions also in FAQ) and read and follow the read me instructions before doing the upgrade. Once you have upgraded your XOOPS you probably also need to upgrade your 'forum' but since you do not identify the version of that module we cannot help. If you expect full help from this community please read the 'read before you post' link below. To find the latest forum module you can simply type it's name into search. The most recent posts about it will be listed first - among them a link to the lastest release.

And the third problem is, for example, when someone reads the topic that is hot, go at some other site, get back to ours it is still shown as hot although he has read it five minutes ago... Please help us solve our problems... Thanks in advance :)

This may be related to other posts about read markers not working - try looking those up.

In a nutshell - you may have more success by
1. Taking the time to do some reading and searching of your own - many things are already asked and answered here.
2. Post specific topics in appropriate forums - ie - your question 2 in theme help and your question 3 in module help.
Good luck
