I tried using this module with 2.4.3 XOOPS and had the same problem with the catagories. No "add" tab was displayed.

I will look at this again when I get home tonight and see if anything changes.

Looks promising to do what I need if I can get it to work..

I got a white screen when I tried to access the module from my "user menu".

I do worry though that the initial screen looks like it requires register globals (I believe, not at home and can not access my notes from work.) to be turned on which has been noted elsewhere as being a security issue. And it WILL be flagged as a security hole with Protector.

But if you change the length of the displayed news to a length long enough to show the scoop then you don't get the read more link... (Using News 1.64 and not sure if I am using a setting in that module or the module I use to display news on the top page.)

Not necessarily the BEST option but it is the one my users wanted so they have it. May incorporate tabs and that sort of thing for future reference. But it works for now. I set the display length to 5000 characters so MOST scoops will display in full on the home page without anyone clicking. The read count is non important as the members of this site are not very computer savy and apparently can't figure out how to click on things to view them...

When you upload a batch of files will it put them all in an album? I also had problems where in the past users could make album names up then add photos.. Seems the last versions dont do that anymore or it is just working wierd.. I will try what you say when I get home in a few and see if it works.

I am assuming this is on the end of every line of that file?
Or was there a specific setting you had to change in that file?

With ExCal It was from the user site of it, not the admin. I could force entry of items from the admin side but it is not the way to make it work when I have someone else moderating the content.


But I will try ExtGallery and see if this makes a difference with it as I was having similar problems with it but only from the admin side.

It just isn't working for me. When I try to enter a category name it will go to the blank screen when I hit submit.

Just seems to be very buggy with 2.4.3. I was able to work around the screen blank thing but it really isn't a good way to go.

And Xcgal works but it is not as smooth as extgallery is.

I would like to see the "spotlight" function work so we can put AMS on the top page. I am using news now with another module to do the same thing. Would be nice if AMS would do this automatically.

I would like to show most of the full text of the last few news items on the front page..

Ok I am trying to do somewhat the same thing. I have a request to show the news articles on the front page so people don't have to expand on them to view them. Would like it to display simularly to how the front page here shows the news articles but since most of the news I will be listing will be under 1000 characters It would be nice to be able to show the whole article.

I can get the view I want by going to the NEWS or the AMS module directly but can't seem to make this the home page. I am sure I am missing something easy but how does this work?

I have both AMS 2.52 and news 1.64 that I am looking at to see which one will do the job.

Playing catchup on this stuff...

PS:
Found a module that does this but would be nice if it was built into the news and AMS modules... The module I found is... "Latest News Block" and it works with news 1.65.

When I go to submit an event from the minical block the top of the screen says "Going back where you came from" and goes to the default month screen.

I CAN seem to force entry of events if I do them from the admin but it is kind of kludgy that way.

I checked the permissions and they are all set correctly. I thought there was supposed to be an expanding menu from the user menu as well to allow you to submit an event but none of that seems to work.

I tried this on 3 different sites with slightly different configurations and it just seemed buggy.

All three sites are using XOOPS 2.4.3. One only has the system, pm and profile modules installed while the others have other stuff installed as well.

ExtCal 2.2.2 does not work with Xoops 2.4.3.. Options?

Are there any options for using a calendar like Extcal with 2.4.3 Xoops?

At the moment this module does not work with XOOPS 2.4.3

Well looks like ExtGallery 1.0.8 just isn't compatible with 2.4.3. Gives me the white screen at times and just doesn't work like it did with 2.0.18.

Unless I am missing something xcgal doesn't allow you to hide catagories or albums unless I missed it?

I want to have some hidden albums to use elsewhere in the site but not normally listed in the gallery.

Does look like it will work though since the other is buggy and doesn't really work.

I have also tried a couple other Galleries and although they seem to work they don't allow the catagories and albums.
