Has anyone ever tried to clone the root index.php file and use iframes and php includes to pull up blocks, module content, and external apps/html/php content? (I have read the mods/blocks faq)

Is there any advice about the path I have chosen to accomplish regional pages? or other ways to do this.

I am hoping to do this with news, mylinks, mydownloads, newbb, and other modules.

This will eliminate the need for me to make multi-installs of XOOPS or to clone modules many times. I want regional sections used with the group permissions on one XOOPS install. This would allow communities on many levels.

How do I make the top/recent news block to show top/recent posts from 'a category'?

Not posts from 'all categories' like the generic block with install. Thanx.

I installed the net2ftp_v1-0_bassman from sourcefourge. I just followed the instructions so I can't reply to any requesting help, yet. It works perfectly fine except...

I can't find an admin section!

What I want to do is set a user's access permission to one directory (e.g. freehost.mysite.com/username/). The net2ftp interface will be in the users edit profile page for private access. I will input the ftp address (unchangeable) so they just enter a password and are in the correct directory.

I want to share my bandwidth with members. I don't mind manually setting users up with accounts or cloning net2ftp. I only have 10 or so ftp accounts (with permissions) at my host so I don't want to give those away.

(off topic) Is there a module that creates a directory named 'username'? I could integrate net2ftp with it. Is anybody doing something similar, have a solution, or module? Thanx

Clone a template set and modify the html files of the module. If you screw up you can generate fresh module pages from default templates and start again.

In module preferences you can turn on
'Enable Cache'
Store some intermediate results in session to save queries.

Turn off some unused features, cleans your page up allot too. Hope it helps!

You could clone a template set and customize the forum 'index' page in the module theme.

Better yet, just change the module language file... the smarty tag will print your statement.

I can't install MadLiens, there are no install notes or search result at xoops. I just took the entire MadLiens folder to ../modules/ and then at admin/module/install it reads...

"can't find module file." (not exact wording)

Thanks!

I want a module like this...
www.world-of-cartoons.de/modules/xoopstoplists/

I searched XOOPS and google for 'xoopstoplists' 'modules xoopstoplists' 'xoops modules toplists/topsites...' and found nothing. I have seen toplists come up a few times on XOOPS forums and discussion became stagnant.

We need a real power house toplist like ardvaark. What module is the closest to a toplist?

Thank you. I didn't search that term. I didn't know submit.php might be a globally used page.

Peace!
