I've released a beta version of the net2ftp module, with help from the script author. If you're interested in trying it out, please download from the link below and let me know what you think.

net2ftp is a FTP client that is web-based, operates as a XOOPS module. This is based on the net2ftp script from www.net2ftp.com.

Features include:
*navigating the FTP server
*upload, download
*copy - move - delete - rename - chmod
*copy/move to a 2nd FTP server
*view code with syntax highlighting
*edit text files
*edit HTML in a WYSIWYG form (IE only)
*zip files to download, email or save
*upload-and-unzip: works also with tar archives
*search for words or phrases
*calculate the size of directories and files

Installation Instructions:
Unzip and upload, install as normal.
Chmod/set permissions of /temp folder to 777 (this can be done with net2ftp)

THis one looks very interesting! I've been looking for a decent http2ftp module as I rarely have access to ftp. I'll be giving this a test tonight .

Does this one work better than the FTP module byhttp://www.inconnueteam.net/ ?

No idea, I didn't even know they had one. I can't speak French, I can't even work out which module is their FTP one :)

Um, that's not even a XOOPS site - it's Ixprim, a CMS i've not heard of before.

Sorry bassman, the original ftp script came from there I believe but the XOOPS version is available on the sourceforge site I think. I honestly forget where I originally picked mine up but it seems to have some problems. I've downloaded your version and will give it a shot!

Do you have a project on Module Dev Forge?
Here's what I get after I installed:
IE Error:

Error: Syntax Error
Code: 0

I get that on the main page before logging in. After trying to log in I see:

If I use an invalid login ID then on the webpage (after trying to log in) I see:
An error has occured:
Unable to login to FTP server localhost with username xxxxx.

Are you sure your username and password are correct? Please contact your ISP helpdesk or system administrator for help.



Drilldown: ftp_openconnection > ftp_login: conn_id=Resource id #221; net2ftp_username=xxxxxxx.


If I log in with the correct information I see a very nice looking interface except many of the buttons are showing as broken images. I think this is due to the extra / in the url of the images?http://www.aviary.info/modules/net2ftp/images/actions//spacer.gif


I also noticed that ALL of the net2ftp directories are set to 777 which is dangerous.. and all of the files are 666.

I get a blank white page when I goto install it on my test site. Mind you the test site is doing somthing a little screwy as the admin page goes into an eternal refresh loop if I turn PHP Debug on

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I've now installed the module on 2 sites besides my test site, and not had any of the problems you described. I'll try it on a third site which is 2.07 (my others are 2.06) and see if anything happens.

Chad, I honestly didn't know that someone else had modularised this script. It's certainly not available on this site :) You might want to check that all the files and folders were uploaded OK. I had problems with my transer dropping out the first time I uploaded the module (not with net2ftp!)

Hmmm, another 6 ppl downloaded the module. No reports, good or bad, from them?

I think I will register the project at the module dev forge. You guys are welcome to contribute anything at all!

Actually, I AM getting broken images. That wasn't happening yesterday!! Weird. Let me look into that :)
