Hi, Thank you for this.

I have tried XRoster, but all it does is put a name in a list, separated by a category.

What I need is similar to a calendar view with two sections for a Sunday, 8:30 am and 10:30 am, then broken into Coffee, Servers, Chalice Bearers, Readers etc.

In each 'box', next to the Sunday and time - a name is put to show who is 'doing' what on a Sunday.

Any ideas for what module would be good for this ?

Thank you very much for the reply.

Already moved to new server/domain - and had to re-install Xoops. Everything went well.

Hello,

Thank you very much for your reply... If anyone else can suggest or offer modules in which would do this, I would really appreciate it.

Per wishcraft:

#1 - I had a look at the "Parish List" module and from the website, note it is a $599usd price. This parish has very limited funds, so we would not be able to purchase this module (or any others).. I know Xoops comes with many free alternatives, and wonder if there is a better or cheaper method to do a parish list ?

If anyone can please point me in the right direction - as to which module I need to do this - I would be very greatful.

#2 - What are your prices ?
As above we have very limited funds. Is there any modules that would work for something smiliar to create a parish rosta ? It doesn't have to be extensive, just something to display & allow administrators to edit.

Something like a calendar with monthly Sundays - and then who would do coffee hour, sunday school, reading, etc.
Any solutions?

Please respond, and again URGENTLY and I look forward to it.

Ok, many thanks for the reply.

Without paying any money (tight budget) is there any way to import data into Xoops ?

I realize this is dependant on certain modules - but what modules accept .csv Excel format ?

Any other help greatly appreciated.
Best regards.

Wow jcweb - thank you so much for your reply. I really appreciate this.

I'm in Canada and own a web business. I am somewhat familiar with Xoops and it looks excellent, can't wait to 'get into it some more'.

As to church management and my client, they currently have an old 12 year old system.

Your #2 sounds the way to go and exactly what they want to do.

a) a parish list containing name of parishioner, address, email, contact details, children, etc.

then we need to specify which group they belong to (i.e. Sunday School, Coffee Hosts, etc.)

Ideally the administrators would like to edit, delete and change this information contained inthe parish list

What is the best way to display this ? By Module - or no module ?

b) Parish Rosta - meaning a list containing names of people who will serve coffee on sunday, do a reading, etc. Maybe 4 or 5 columns but many rows for the peoples names.

Administrators want to edit, delete, change this information

c) A note pad or comment box next to each parishioner. The Rector wants a way to add comments next to each person, so he can specify he visited them, they like coming to church, have kids in sunday school etc.

What is the best way to make this available to an administrator ?

d) Importing of data - what I have, and only have is a .csv list of 10 year old data. Is there any way to import this into Xoops ?

e) email connection for users / administrators is not needed.

Any one with any suggestions - this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you soooo much.. .An URGENT request.

Hello,

If I need to change the domain, does this mean that all the text entered into a module will need to be 're-entered' on a new domain?

Or is there some way to export all the information entered / export modules to keep everything the same - on a new server / domain ?

Any help greatly appreciated.
