Hello,

Can someone please advise + URgently of the best module to do this with:

1) Parish List
2) Rosta
3) Anything to do with Church Management

1) You will be able to do the parish list with the directory module from http://www.defense.io this will provide a list of people on the system like your parish in a drill down corporate directory and allow it to be search able based on the permissions. It is corporate software and comes with a fee but it is a good application and cheap.

2) I am not sure if we have any rostering software but i would be happy to write it for you for a nominal fee, depending on how many hours you need me for, or if you want to work on a flat rate it is up to you.

3) We have nothing as far as i am aware explicity defined for church management, you may be able to modify modules to suit your needs. The only disadvantage with xoops is you will need to do some programming for this, but it does without a doubt produce a better website.

Thank you very much for your reply... If anyone else can suggest or offer modules in which would do this, I would really appreciate it.

Per wishcraft:

#1 - I had a look at the "Parish List" module and from the website, note it is a $599usd price. This parish has very limited funds, so we would not be able to purchase this module (or any others).. I know Xoops comes with many free alternatives, and wonder if there is a better or cheaper method to do a parish list ?

If anyone can please point me in the right direction - as to which module I need to do this - I would be very greatful.

#2 - What are your prices ?
As above we have very limited funds. Is there any modules that would work for something smiliar to create a parish rosta ? It doesn't have to be extensive, just something to display & allow administrators to edit.

Something like a calendar with monthly Sundays - and then who would do coffee hour, sunday school, reading, etc.
Any solutions?

Please respond, and again URGENTLY and I look forward to it.

Not sure what functions you want.
On gaming sites they use xRoster.

Hi, Thank you for this.

I have tried XRoster, but all it does is put a name in a list, separated by a category.

What I need is similar to a calendar view with two sections for a Sunday, 8:30 am and 10:30 am, then broken into Coffee, Servers, Chalice Bearers, Readers etc.

In each 'box', next to the Sunday and time - a name is put to show who is 'doing' what on a Sunday.

Any ideas for what module would be good for this ?

In News, togheter with a WYSIWYG editor, you can make an article for each week (or change the same article as required) with some tables in it, that lists the various responsible people for each activity.

I know in some calendars (ExtCal?, Pical?), there is a way to have events and then people can subsribe by indicating that they are comming or not to that event.
This could maybe also be used as such a list.

1 - depending on how you want to list your parishes, SmartPartner, or WF-Links (imLinks)
2 - for a roster, you could use a similar module
3 - osc -http://sourceforge.net/projects/osc/ (the modules do work for XOOPS)

I have had a look and have found, due to this link - a module for "church management"...

It looks very good to produce a Parish List, which the rector (key people in parish) can edit and maintain / make changes etc.

I will look at it in detail. This is very GOOD.

Hello,

Can you please tell me if the Smart Client & Church Management module, will allow for a Rector or key people in the parish to make changes - edit, change, delete.

Also, will a user or administrator be able to add the name to a group or category ?
