As state before this depends on the modules you are using, and working with, the data itself will have to be imported with a PHP script on a local bench and then the database re-imported but this will inolve programming.

To give you and idea a script i wrote recently for oledrion the shop module to import all the magic the gathering cards took me 8 hours from start to finish with the charge of 200 AUD for my mate to make happy world hobbies. That is mates rates which I do for parish, churches, religions, cults, not for profits.

Each module will have a unique script and each data plane will have it own script.

Ok, many thanks for the reply.

Without paying any money (tight budget) is there any way to import data into Xoops ?

I realize this is dependant on certain modules - but what modules accept .csv Excel format ?

Any other help greatly appreciated.
Best regards.

You can use phpMyAdmin, or you can use MySQL directly or here
Support XOOPS => DONATE
Use 2.5.10 | Docs | Modules | Bugs

There are also examples of import scripts for users on this forum. Search for csv and import.

Hello, and many thanks for the replies.

Unforutunately, I do not have a database of the previous data, so mysql or php admin and importing it, is out.

I only have a .csv excel sheet of previous 10 year old data.

In Xoops / a new system - we only want the first 6 months to 2 years included.

I have done a search through Xoops and the .csv importing posts do not have replies to them, so unfortunately that does not help.

Please can any one get back to me and advise the best way to do this. If it is not possible, then I likely would have to re-type in over 200+ blocks of data.

Many thanks.

You should try this script (preferably in local (or live with a good backup)).

Hi ghia, Thank you so much for your reply.

Can you please give me some more details with that script ?

Or, is there any other way to do this?

Import .csv into xoops.
