GOOD QUESTION!

Personally --> @ home I have different players for different media types. Most are for winamp (on Windows) but I use various players in Linux.

For everyone else --> One player with the option to edit the choices. Makes it easier for you on the onset but more difficult in the backend. BUT it makes it easier for the 'customer' (aka everyone who uses the module) all the time.

Just my .25 cents.

Took 4 minutes 20 seconds to figure this out.

1) Create a new gallery
2) Give permissions for " Users who can create sub albums" to "LOGGEDIN".

And that's it. The users who want their own gallery can create it in that subalbum. And they can then lock down their own album or allow others to post within their sub-album. Pretty kewl actually!

Try it and let me know what happens.

Thanks,

Gnik

Chill dude. Just suggesting you wait because the best source for the answer is usually the person who maintains the module.

Yes - the xoopsgallery module site does not see much traffic. Yes the responses are usually slower than most other modules. But - hey - the module rocks.

I'll look into finding an answer to your question on my own (if someone else doesn't beat me to a reply in the meantime).

You posted yesterday - some of these things take days to answer (as most developers don't get paid to support/provide their modules - so they actually have a life beyond XOOPS ).

That's the best place to get the answer - I suggest waiting a day or few for the answer from the source.

Using Firefox - debaser, instead of displaying the audio play component, displays "download" with a link instead. Do I need to download something for Firefox or is this a debaser issue?

Thanks,

I take the opposite approach.

If someone wants to migrate to the IPB Module, Koudanshi's site provides the scripts.

But if you want to migrate away from the IPB Module to something else - the destination should provide the scripts.

Example: You want to change your cell service from AT&T to Sprint. Sprint says, "Hey, we'll take the information from your old cell phone and will upload it to your new Sprint phone." Yeah!
Then you decide to change to Vorizon. Should Sprint be the one to transfer your numbers from your Sprint phone to your new Vorizion phone?

Koudanshi posted his position on the IPB Module's future on his site. I encourage you to read it.

Can it play video? How about a playlist?

So far I'm putting it to good use. THANKS!

Perhaps our view differs. What is your opinion?

I was refering to the areas that have placeholders for variables like "_AM_DEBASER_GOMOD". Regardless everything appears functional. Keep up the good work! THANKS!

Hmmm . . . it depends. If you want to 'mainstream' the module - it should have a (creative) name that represents it's function or use or application.

If it is just an experiment or something you don't plan to ever make to version 1.0 - then it's name is fine.

For example, a XOOPS novice loads this module - thinks it's kewl but then when people come to their site, they don't know what 'debaser' is so it gets unused (until the owner of the site changes the module name).

Anyone else want to add your thoughts?

Gnik
