Hello all!
I have (had) a problem with News module (versions 1.54 and 1.56). The trouble started similar to those described below:

Problem discussion on instantzero

While I cannont wait long enough for my registration there to be approved, I must ask anyone here if they have any suggestions.
The site started with News 1.54., worked fine for a couple of months, then yesterday started having these strange fits (described above). I tried updating the module, reinstalling the same version (1.54), installing 1.56, I deleted it from the server, copied again from a backup...virtually anything I could come up with but with no results.

Now I'm starting to think that either my whole XOOPS installation is compromised or maybe my database is corrupted. Is there any way to check this? I tried running the site on debug mode, but when I click on 'New post' it just goes blank and does nothing; I have to click 'Back' in order to get anything.

For the time being, I must install some other news module. I hope that someone will help me here and give me some helpful tips so that I can restore News 1.56 module.

TIA!!

PS.
I run XOOPS 2.0.16 on Debian Sarge server.

Hello!
I just upgraded my news module (1.44 to 1.53), but I am still dubious abotu files upload. Even in previous version, I couldn't make it work and still am not able to. I enter the news, choose a file to upload, post the news; but when I view the news, there is no sign of the uploaded file. It couldn't have just vanished - or am I missing something, interpreting wrong the way this is supposed to work?
Thanx in advance!

Hello!
I am having problems with installing XOOPS module Worpress 2.05. The download from the web site went ok, I unzipped it, uploaded it in the /modules directory just fine. The root is the owner and the group of the whole /wordpress directory.
However, in the Modules section of the Administration menu, all I see is the text 'Wordpress' without the icon representing it. I am able to install it, and it seems that the installation goes without a hitch. After that, in the active modules, there is still no icon of the wordpress; I am able to upgrade the module but....
When I click on the icon in the modules (or on the Worpress on the site) I get the following error message:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, helpdesk@fos.hr and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

I reviewed the apache log, and found only the following suspicious:

[Wed Feb 14 12:12:43 2007] [alert] [client 161.53.204.102] /var/www/xoops/htdocs/modules/wordpress/.htaccess: RewriteEngine not allowed here

The wordpress and subdirectories have --rw-rw-rw rights.

If anyone has any idea, please share cuz I've been working on this (had several ideas) for 2.5 hours, and have no clues....Thanx in advance.

Hello!
I am not sure if there already exist a module that does what I am looking for, if anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be more than gratfule.

I am developing a webpage for a collegge; I have the list of courses with their apropriate professors.
What I am trying to do is have each professor make his own homepage. Sort of like a blog. I am looking for a module that can do that. It has to be simple to edit, publish, play with, so that even the ones with just basic understaning of english or CMS can use it. It has to be able to upload files from the users computer. For each professor to edit his own home page, but also be able to access and view (but not edit!) pages of other professors.
Also, some level of access for anonymous users would be nice.

I tried using Article, but it is not satisfactory. I would have to make 30+ user groups, and give permissions to each his own. That would make a very ugly and cumbersome solution. Is wordpress the tool that would let me do the above? Or is any of the tool found in the blog repository?

Thanks in advance!!

The same thing happened to me. I got a blank ie white screen. I played around with copying individiual theme files in the Unix shell but unfortunately, got no results.
Since I do not have cpanel but just a Unix shell, I am unable to follow your instructions here.
Could some else please point out what I must edit (using joe) so that things are restored back to the default theme?
Thanx in advance!
