I am running newbb on my site (2.013) and I was wondering.

What are the benefits of CBB over Newbb and can I upgrade from one to the other easily?

I use the wordpress module on my site and I have one complaint. Spam.

I haven't worked out how to stop comment and trackback spam so I have had to switch both functions off.

Other than that I like it.

I have cloned it 7 times and it works fine.

For meta tags (which Google doesn't use apparently) install the module XBS Tags. It gives you individual tags on each page.

For overall tags, there is a section in the admin area under system admin where you can change them.

You need to change the menuhead in the main theme page.

you will see id="headmenu" this is where the links are. Simply change the name of the module in a link and it will now point to where you want it to.

Having cleared the Templates folder, it now works.

Thanks

I want to add Google Analytics to my site, but I am not sure which file to add it to. I added it to the main theme file, but that doesn't seem to have worked.

Allowing Users to Run Private Forums

One of my users has asked that I set up a private forum, which I am happy to do. However, it seems that only I can invite people to join the forum, which will be inconvenient.

How can I allow users, or selected users to set up and run private forums, without giving them access to other admin tasks.

I am using Newbb.

I would find such a function useful.

The way I would see it working is that users could earn the right to become part of a higher ranking group with access to extra areas of the site.

You have to give anonymous users the right to see the blocks.

Under site admin

Choose System admin, Groups.

Click on modify: Anonymous Users

Under Block Access Rights, check those blocks that you want to be visible to everyone.
