It's linked in there but I should probably have made it clearer. The link is http://sanctum.axiom.ky.

I was wondering if someone could help me figure out what's wrong with my XOOPS site.

Like the title implies, it's slow as heck. Horrendously slow really. It didn't start out this way as I was working on it and other sites on my same domain (this is on a subdomain) run perfectly fine so it's not the host. I'm not really linking to anything external so its not that.

It's something with XOOPS and I don't know what to do about it.

I've set the cache on almost all of the modules I have installed (and I really don't have very many installed). That caching appears to have done nothing. I'm still working on the site but I turned off the template checking and that doesn't help either.

Perhaps someone here can suggest something. My site is at right here. If someone could help me out I'd really appreciate it.

Hmmm... I guess I'll just have to email them.

Thank you for looking at the theme. I thought it would be a good idea to list the theme and where I got it from so intrepid souls like yourself could do just what you did.

Hmmmm... I don't know of any way to dictate a to module/page itself (not a sub-block) on where to load. Is there a way?

Kurt

The problem is that anything that affects one module should affect them all, shouldn't it?

I'm no expert, but I'm guessing that when you go to an actual 'page' (i.e. the main module itself, not a sideblock) that it puts it center-center?

And this theme I downloaded is kind of funny. It only seems to have a left and a center-center column. I knew it didn't have a right column, but I don't seem to be able to place things in left/right-center columns either.

Maybe the forums and the registration and such is placing them one of the other colums and its getting pushed to the bottom?

This is pretty site-breaking. Anything you guys could help me with would be great.

And yes, it's Trek roleplaying.

I'm putting together a new XOOPS site as kinda-sorta like a news site for a roleplaying storyline.

I downloaded and installed the (xf_2Col_blue_grey)template off of XOOPS Factory. I've installed several modules and don't have problems with many of them. But a few give me problems.

Specifically the problem is that in some cases the only thing on a page seems to be pushed all the way down to the bottom of it.

(example here)

This really throws things off. Especially when (at this point) the only thing it does this with is the user registration (just gives a blank screen if you don't think to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page) and the forums. Both of which are pretty important for a website.

I did edit the CSS for this theme, but only to change colors really. Perhaps someone could offer me some advice on what the problem might be and how to solve it?

Thanks in advance.

Kurt

I'm trying to use this very nice hack. Which would be good for me as some of my users would like to have spaces in their names instead of the less sightly underscore.

I tried this hack but have a problem. The php page won't display. I get this...

Parse error: parse error, unexpected '<' in /home/pttfulij/public_html/omni/hq/register.php on line 75

Could someone tell me how to fix this? I'm pretty sure I followed the instructions properly.

I had everything default. I hadn't really messed with any settings. It was set to gd v.1. I tried switching it to Image Magick and then gd v.2 but saw no difference. Do I have to re-upload the images?

I'm using XOOPS 2.0.13 and at the moment everything does seem to be working, which is why I don't understand the error.

I'm not sure why, but I tried batch adding some pictures to xcGallery for the first time tonight -which went smoothly- but for some reason the thumbnails it produces look very very different than the source pictures. Is this normal or is there something I have to change/fix?

Resized Image

Also - ever since I installed xcGallery (even before I had set anything up) I've had something show up in debug. What's wrong and how do I fix it?

Thanks for your response Lance :) I got this stuff the next day and have been trying to work on them since - hence the late reply (to your reply) here.

Lessee...

1- Worked! Thanks a lot :) I think I'll toss an image in there to make it fancy shmancy. Or not. Dunno.

2- I looked at the Autologin hack... it looks daunting to me. I'm not very code literate and I don't want to screw something up. ::sigh:: Why does XOOPS disallow remembering logins when pretty much every BB system does? (no idea about other CMSes)

3- Spotlight only allows one story (or no?) Currently I only have one news post in there as a testdrive thing. If I want to have a nice healthy bit of news stories do I have to like duplicate the module over and over?

4- That <?xoops_banner> thing didn't work for me so I tried a php code solution found elsewhere on this site and it works like a charm :)

5- Liaise works beautifully! Thanks man.

6- Guess I'll have to wait on a mod or somebody who knows the core stuff for an answer on that.

==================== New Things ==================

7- I could've sworn I've seen an option to "Duplicate" modules in my admin area before, when I mouse over a module or something. I had no need to do so so I never tried, but when I went to try tonight, I couldn't find any such option anywhere. Is there something in there for that or am I just crazy?

8- Is there anyway to set up the 'favicon' thing for your site with xoops?
