I thought I would just add that Mac Addresses are easily faked. I have a mod to my net gear router, and it allows me to look like the network card they gave me for my computer (single access mode), but I have 5 computers hooked to it. mac spoofing has been around for a long time.

So don't get too comfortable with the security of it.

Actually you can create a block in the administration tool. Inside the block paste this text:

<noscript><a href="http://www.altavista.com/babelfish/tr"></noscript>

After this is done, go to groups and assign the rights as needed. This is what I did on my site. Saves on unnecessary module coding.

E-Mail Issue With Xoops System mail

When I have a new user register I get the following notification:

=?iso-8859-1?B?YWRtaW5AY2xhbi1zay5vcmc=?= <admin@clan-sk.org>


How do I get it to drop the extra characters and just list admin@clan-sk.org ?

This is important because it look salmost like a spam message to the users getting it. Sometimes they do not click on the item.

Any help is appreciated...

xoops_bb_posts_text on mysql error

I get the following error when selecting my xoops_bb-posts_text table in phpMyAdmin.

Back

It says 0 rows. No one has management rights in the db but me. Does anyone have any idea what happened? We only had 1600 posts. I need help because at this point we are down.

I did the search, and it did not help. The errors are the same, but I am not a PHP programmer. Is there an all encompassing update for XOOPS 2.0.10? I am using all default folders and setup. The error persists even after i make the changes as suggested.

There are no changes. I even checked the permissions on the destination folder. they are 777. I am truely racking my brain trying to figure this out. ANY help is appreciated..

I am not too sure if this is the right place to come, but I am having problems loading avatars on my xoops.

I get the folowing message:

Could not get uploaded file 0
File not found


What do I need to do to fix? Please help. This is the last thing to get fixed to make our site really cool. I can manually edit my profile in the database and insert the file name, and It will display, but I cannot upload the image file within xoops.

Please help.

I am not too sure what it would take to get a mod like that going. I wanted to give my users a way to see friends playing and what servers they are on as well as chat capabilities. Anyway that was my idea. I am not a programmer, just a user...

If it is possible, please let me know.. I will be watching the forums for updates..

XFire Module for Xoops

I would like a XFire module. I have been looking in the repositiry, and found nothing. We have MSN Messeger stuff... But I host a gaming site, and most of those users are on XFire.

If on exists, can someone provide a link to it? If one does not exist, can someone create it? Either way... Thanks.
