As far as I can tell nothing has changed on the host side. MySql and Apache and PHP are all the same version as when I started this project.

I can still post, but new user registrations are not working. I will perform the upgrade to 2.2.4 but I am not sure that will resolve the issue.

Please let me know where to look, and I will probe around for answers.

Everytime I attempt to register a new user or some one attempts to register this is the message they get.

Could not register new user.

The site has been running for about a year now and I have not had this happen before.

I am running XOOPS 2.2.3 and the back end databases have not changed either. Anyone have any suggestions? I would be glad to hear them.

I would be interested in testing this also. The MSN and YIM stuff is nice, but we are a gaming clan. XFIRE downloads patches automatically for our games, and is a great way to keep track of what servers our clan members are on.

I know of atleast 50 clans currently using XOOPS that could make use of this also. I am willing to beta test and give feed back (on implementation, functionality, ease of use, etc..) just let me know what you need from me.

Xoops 2.1.10 is the actual running version on our server.

If you are speaking of the unix access logs, as in when you log into the system... This site is hosted on yahoo, and I doubt they will be willing to give up their logs for me to review.

Yahoo themselves have not been very helpful either other than saying we should make daily backups (Duh.. We already knew that one)..

How do I get to the access logs? Looking theough the menu's I do not see access logs.

Yesterday we were held hostage by a hacker. Here is what happened.

He registered an account with an anonymous email address. Then he made some posts and logged out.

He was not even logged in and he was able to change user names, edit posts, and strip away admin rights within forums. He was able to edit posts within seconds after they were made. Even in private forums.

What we need to know, is how is this possible? The system was totaly secure so I thought. We had the latest patches installed. How can someone hack our system in such a way?

I am a fairly decent systems guy, and a good student of the game, and I could not figure it out. So any help is greatly appreciated.

alot of gamers use xfire as a chat client, or to track where their friends are (what game servers). That is a invaluable tool to us gamers.

If it can be done, that would be great
