Have you looked at the FileManager module for FTP?

Does a nice job. Might have to make some minor hacks to allow access to only specific directories.

I tried it but imho Invision Power File Manager 1.0.1 is better

For cron job you're right...looking for it on google I found this linkhttp://www.dwalker.co.uk/phpjobscheduler/ with an easy scheduler that should works fine with XOOPS DB backup & restore.

I'll try it later...now Italy vs Australia!

tnx for the answers!

My hoster don't permit to create other FTP accounts....I tried "Invision Power File Manager 1.0.1" and with this module (a porting to XOOPS from Invision board) I can give full access (also CHMOD!) only for a specific folder...so I solved this problem!

About "Xoops DB Backup and restore" what's a "cron job"?

Hi...I've to stay far from my sites for some weeks...

For this reason I'm looking for 2 modules to manage my site...

First of all I need a module that permit to my collaborators to upload some files only in a specific folder...

Then I'd like a module that make a back up of database in an automatized way, for example each day at 4:00 a.m. it should send a compressed back up to a specified e-mail address.

What are best modules (if they exist!) to satisfy my needs?

Thanks for your advice!

I solved this issue using CBB 3.01:http://www.xoopsforge.com/

But please...can you tell me if you can see admin link in the index page when you're logged as a moderator?

Go here

ianez I had a similar problem and I tried the bugfix release CBB 3.01:http://xoopsforge.com/modules/wordpress/index.php/91

But I still have the same problem...logged as a moderator I can't see admin link on index page and so I can't access as a moderator to suspension tool!

I'm on 2.0.13 core and tried also with default theme

LooooL....the code still was in CBB!
Thanks you so much Bender!

And now I'll give my contribute....

If you add quote bottom when you see a topic, you should want delete "quote" bottom in "reply form".

Just remove lines from 272 to 279 in newbb/include/forumform.inc.php

Lines to be removed:
272    if ( !empty($isreply) && !empty($hidden) ) {
273        $forum_form->addElement(new XoopsFormHidden('hidden'$hidden));
274
275        $quote_button
= new XoopsFormButton('''quote'_MD_QUOTE'button');
276        $quote_button->setExtra("onclick='xoopsGetElementById("message").value=xoopsGetElementById("message").value+ xoopsGetElementById("hidden").value;xoopsGetElementById("hidden").value="";'");
277        $quote_button->setExtra("tabindex='4'");
278     $button_tray->addElement($quote_button);
279    }

Your answer seems like a defense of something that you know it can't be defended and denote the absolute incapacity of stuff and developers to appreciate as constructive a critic....but I have knew it for lots of time

I'm really really happy and sotisfied in reading a similar thread!

First of all I join to this request adding that it's the only reason I dont' upgrade my site from 2.0.13.2 to 2.2

I'd like to notice that I have been against this feature since the presentation of XOOPS 2.2RC in the far past July when I tried to explain in all the ways that it's an absolutely problematic feature and advanteges, if exists, are very less than problem it can generate, but among 216 comments (most of them like "thank","great","nice work"...when now everybody know that release was one of the worse in XOOPS story!!!) my opinion was alone and I had some answers quite unpleasant from developers too!!!!

I'm happy that XOOPS users now opened their eyes on this problem and we're discussing about...maybe too much late but better than never!

I agree with gtop00 and other people that think that developers and programmers, despite their works is hard, good and to be appreciate, are farest and farest from users audience, their suggestions and, above all, in developement they are loosing a fondamentals point of wiev: XOOPS is not a script that have to reach a supreme perfection but a CMS that have to be used with seplicity from users before than webmasters and coders, and, if they want to continue to give their competence in this project, they should accomplish with users request too, even if their proposal go in a different direction.

Unfortunately I have no specific competence but I try to be useful for community in 2 ways: translating modules for Italian community (for example CBB 3.0 is already ready) and expressing my opinion here, even if is againt all

An example? They recently did something that I consider a bad idea, and against usability, in the new CBB 3.0, where they eliminated the quote buttom to (they say) improve velocity: this improvement means just a 1kb files that now will not be more displayed, but ours users will haven't more a feature that I think is one of the most used in a forum...for example only in this discussion it's used by lots of us, staff included!
They implemented this function in a cervellotic way that's completely different from all others forum platform (vBullettin, phpbb, IPB and others that now I don't remember)...why? To show they're good programmers? Or are they looking for a job at OCSA? What's OCSA? Office for Complicating Simple Affair! (<- It wouldn't be offensive...I'm just jocking )

I tried to explain that for me that's a bad idea and I obtained just sarcastic answer from stupid users that refuse a constructive dialogue, and no more answers and helps about my problems in using CBB by developers!
See yourself:https://xoops.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=2851

Sorry for lenght!
