hello,
Does anyone know where I can get News Module 1.2?. I need a stable version of teh news module where everything is working?. I have version 1.3, but there are bugs in it. (The user can't post the extended text for the article in the "submit.php" form). you have to have module admin rights to do that.

Any help with this will be much appreciated. I am new to XOOPS so please help me..

Thanks.

I have made sure that the user can edit their post. The problem with giving the user access to news module administration is they can change all the other things. I only want them to post news and edit their post only. is their a way to do this?. Does anyone have a hacked version of the submit.php file for the news module that I can get that will let me do what I want?

Thanks,
Ahmed.

Hello,
I have a problem with the News Module 1.3 I am using. the registered user is not able to post the extended text for the article because there is no area to do that in the form(submit.php). Also they are not able to edit their own article. It will not save the news to the database. I think it's a bug in the submit.php file. I have the most recent copy of news module. I made sure the user has the correct permissions. Can some one help fix this?. I really want the user to post and edit their news. I know I can give them admin rights to the module but this is not good because they can change all the settings.. does someone have a hack or a working form (submit.php)?.

Thanks very much,
Ahmed.

Hello,
I am running news 1.3 version. When a user tries to post a news article using the form(submit.php), there is no area for the extended text. When you post from the administration menu there is no problem. The problem is when a registered user tries to post. Also when the user edits teh article it displays the form (submit.php)with the extended text area, but it won't save the article. I think it's a bug in the submit.php file in the module. Anyone knows how to fix this?. I have made sure all the permissions are given correctly.

Thanks,
Ahmed.

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone can help me figure this one out. The question is how do you let a registered user post news?. I am using news 1.3 module and when I am logged in as administrator everything is fine. But when I am logged in as user it seems there is no way to edit the news posted by the user. I want the user to be able to post/edit their own news. I know you can give them access to news module admin, but this gives them access to change other settings as well. Is there a way to only give them access to post and edit their own news?. Also the submit news form(submit.php) that the user sees is different from what the admin can see. The user does not see the area to post extended text. can anyone help me?. How can I solve this problem?.

Much appreciated,
Ahmed.

I guess I am looking for a theme that will let me post news with two columns. One that I can have a top story for each category with a small thumbnail image and a brief description and a read more link for the full story, and the remaining x-number of headlines for that category below. This may need some editing of the block/templates.. I don't know how I can do this..
