Which Version Of Xoops Am I Using?

I have lost track of upgrades and stuff on my site. What is the easiest way to confirm which XOOPS VERSION I am using so I can start the upgrade process??

I might have missed this in regards to TRIBES - Which I simply call COMMUNITIES .

Will the administrator be able to limit tribe creations? Such as not allow users but create a specific number of TRIBES?

In my case it would be a tribie (COMMUNITY) for each state in the U.S. to help my diversified membership locate others in the same state.

Xoops package and Fantastico

Not sure if this is the correct forum, but I was testing at my host account and playing with the fantastico auto install for many CMS programs. Off all of them, XOOPS was the only one that only installed its CORE file.

Now for experienced users, thats no big deal, just add your needed modules and your good to go.

BUT, someone using fantastico in the first place...problaby doesn't have the best experience with uploading and properly expanding compressed files and what not.

I believe for XOOPS to compete it MUST COME WITH SOME BASIC MODULES PACKAGED WITH IT.

Then the user can decide if he want's to use them or not. But atleast he will see quickly the wonderful abilities of XOOPS and not just be looking at a website scratching his head!!!!!!!

I use XT TEMAS module. It will also let the user select and have it remember his favorite theme for the next time he/she logs back into the site.

Zen Carts for XOOPS should work for you. You can get it from the modules repository, although not updated still a good source for downloads

Site bug: I registered on your site and noticed when I was loged in that when I click on the My Profile link from the MAIN MENU block you have a code error.

Well I might be just alone in this question. But I was happy with the original YOGURT ALBUM. And was looking forward to its final release.

I guess it took on this whole Social Networking approach.

I just liked it for my members to have a more enhanced profile for getting to know more about them, but without all the SOCIAL Aspects.

Will these be options that the Administrator can turn on our off for its site??

Either way...GREAT MODULE>>>>>

DO you know the login name of the site administrator? Thats the level you need to log into the site with. Maybe the site owner has that information.

If not you may need to go into the sql database and edit it to get access as the main site administrator.

Once that is done, then you can just install a POLLS module and have full control of polls that way.

I am familiar with GoDaddy, and wan't excited using them for my sql database it was even limited I believe in uploading my sql files from my prior hosting company, was going to have to break the files up into smaller ones. I personally have been happy with bluehost.com service. Nothing wrong with GoDaddy either but like you said, you don't get access to some helpful tools and info.

Note: They still should be able to confirm if the sql servers are having heavy loads on them to help you in confirming your problem.

Are you using cache options in your site setup?

I wouldn't just assume the hosting company is telling you the truth.

First, if your account is hosted on a shared server that host many sql databases(usually the low cost hosting companies) that would be my first question.

Ask the company if they have a link to a page that shows the server status, how much use is it getting and at times.
