1) Yes, I've set it so that webmaster can do everything (plus, the article itself loads fine, but the file does not). I've upped the max file size as well, so that shouldn't be an issue.

2) Yes. chmod = 777 on that folder.

3) As far as I'm aware, yes. I have a few other mods that require file uploads

4) I've tried just simple .txt and .doc

5) I turned it on, but couldn't see any particular errors on the page (should I be looking in logs somewhere?)

6)
OS = Linux (not sure what distro)
Web server = Apache 1.3.33 (Unix)
PHP = 4.3.10
MySQL = 4.0.23-standard
xoops = 2.0.9.2

That one... :p I was modifying a few other systems, and one of them had a version 2.6 of a mod running...

I'll try the debug thing now.

Nope, no erros beyond : Error uploading file

(unless any errors are save to a file somewhere that I should be checking).

EDIT: also tried making the folders for the mod write enabled for all (temporarily of course), but still no go.

When posting a new article, I try to upload a file with it, but keep getting: Error while uploading the file .

Any thoughts ?

Everything else seems to be working fine.

Just wondering, I've recently installed the Customer Support module (just for my own use), and want to restrict it so that no one else can see it (ie, I want it to dissapear from the main menu completely for everyone but the webmaster account). Any suggestions ?

even just being able to see the IP address of each user would be good, allthough then you'd have to be on at the same time as them....

Broader than that though, does XOOPS log IP addresses at all? I know that in the "who's on" window you can see IPs...

Hi there, Firstly hi to all! wohoo, first post

Ok, down to business. I've got a XOOPS site set up, with forums, etc. For some strange reason a few random people have decided that it'd be really funny to come and spam the forums.

Now so far it's been fairly tame, and I've just deleted their accounts which has solved the problem. I want to know though if there is a way to log the IP addresses of people visiting the site, and also if it's possible to create a log of IP addresses against usernames (so I can block certain IP's if necessary).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
