How do i turn safe mode off?

Hi,

XOOPS Version: 2.0.13.1
Module Name/Version: xcgal 2.02
PHP Version: 4.3.11
MySQL Version:4.1.19-standard
Web Server Software (Apache/IIS/Other): apache

A full description of the issue:

When a user tries to upload an image, I get the followng error:

"Impossible to move Winter.jpg to albums/userpics/10001/!"

When I check the userpics folder through ftp, there's a folder there that has been created (10001) with permissions 777, which is what I set in the module preferences. If I try to change the permissions manually though (chmod 755 for example) I get an error : Could not change perms on 10001: Bad file descriptor

If on the other hand I manually create a folder called 10001 and set chmod to 777 then when I go to upload pictures as a user, it works fine!

Any ideas?

Ok, I've progressed a little bit...

I uploaded 2.0.13.2 over the top, then tried the installation of 2.0.14 again (uploading all the files, etc).

If I go to the root now, it loads the page for a new installation.

If I go to the /upgrade/ folder, I get the following error:

Not Found
The requested URL /upgrade/install/index.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I'm not sure with it's trying to install...

The md5 checker still has HEAPS of errors...

any other ideas?

Hi guys,

Here's my story:

I was running version 2.0.9.2, so after a bit of research, I did the updates 1 by 1 (found here:http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=41586&package_id=72954) up to 2.0.13.

So far that all worked fine, the site still worked, and not a problem!

I then thought to upgrade to 2.0.14, without realising that there was 2.0.13.2 in between.

I followed the instructions in the 2.0.14 release notes for upgrades, I did the following:

1. Copy the content of the htdocs/ folder except mainfile.php over your existing installation.

2. Delete the following folders and files:

* class/smarty/core

* class/smarty/plugins/resource.db.php

3. Empty the templates_c folder (except index.html)

4. Upload the upgrade folder to your site

5. Ensure the server can write to mainfile.php

I then wasn't sure how to log in with an administrator account...

From there, I went to mysite.com/upgrade and all I get there is a blank page.

If I go to the root directory, I get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: getinstance() in /home/davidbl/public_html/jam/include/common.php on line 40

Anyone got any ideas?

Further see my XOOPS System Upgrade Flash Tutorial.

As far as database backups go either export from phpmyadmin, or see this Article.

HTH.

Man, why isn't that tutorial setup as part of the main downloads / upgrade page? It's GREAT !

I'm upgrading from 2.0.9.2 as we speak

Lol, if it gets too complicated I'll just make my own in html ... It doesn't need to be a XOOPS module :p

What's this hiring of a dev you speak of ?

And what be these amazon modules? arg (sorry, just came out kinda pirate like).

I'm getting married in Jan next year, and am considering setting up my own gift list rather than going through someone else's service.

A module that enables you to do the following would be grouse:

1) Enter a list of desired gifts (can be used for anything, not just weddings).

2) Can enable you to enter a suggested value (just to give people an idea of the approximate cost for each item).

3) People can just click a tick box or something when they buy a certain item. This should not actually remove the item, simply strike it out (so people can see what has allready been purchased).

4) A special item that enables you to instead of just ticking it off, rather enter if you are donating a certain amount of money toward it. Eg, one item for us could be a "Bed Fund", total needed $2000, then people can enter the amount they can donate toward it (as their gift), and so it deducts that amount from the total left, striking it out once it's reached $0.

So, any takers? (or better still, are there any modules out there allready that enable all of this?)

Cheers,
-D.
