Hi there, Firstly hi to all! wohoo, first post

Ok, down to business. I've got a XOOPS site set up, with forums, etc. For some strange reason a few random people have decided that it'd be really funny to come and spam the forums.

Now so far it's been fairly tame, and I've just deleted their accounts which has solved the problem. I want to know though if there is a way to log the IP addresses of people visiting the site, and also if it's possible to create a log of IP addresses against usernames (so I can block certain IP's if necessary).

Any help would be appreciated.

To my knowledge there is crrently no module for the central tracking and management of problem users. There is AMXBans, but as far as I know that is only for half life servers.

NewBB 2 has the option to display the IP address of users for each post, but there is nothing that collates this data or allows you to manage users centrally. It would be very handy if there was something like this.

even just being able to see the IP address of each user would be good, allthough then you'd have to be on at the same time as them....

Broader than that though, does XOOPS log IP addresses at all? I know that in the "who's on" window you can see IPs...

No. You will need to use a stats package for that. I use PHP-Stats which has user tracking.

Yep, but if I managed, anyone should. I only speak two languages, english and bad english .

same problem is bugging me..
but hey, users, that access site are being stored in db (ip, time, session details), so.. there is a possibility to store this information in another table, but without deletion like un "xoops_users" table! Am i wrong? Isn't that too hard? i think not.

hmm.. i was wrong, as user enters the site, he is manipulated by online_handler object.. but i'll try to put data into the table..
