Anyone have News 1.3.11 available for download?

I suppose due to the site problems, the downloads for the News module are not available on the dev boards. The repository is still at 1.3

Does anyone have a copy of a zipped 1.3.11 News Module? I want to test it out with my fresh 2.2 installation.

Thanks

One way that I found to make it look decent, is to add this to change the overall welcome_index div.

Originally,

div#index_welcome{
margin: 10px;
margin-bottom: 10px;
clear: both;
}

Now:

div#index_welcome{
position: relative;
top: -200px;
margin: 10px;
margin-bottom: 10px;
clear: both;
}

---------------------------------------
However, the problem is that this will have to be changed once the base block set is decided upon, and really is a sloppy fix that I just don't like.

<div> question regarding newbb module placement

So I have been looking at some css themes such as StudioC's latest offering, and have noticed that in that theme the forums module <div> always sits below the lowest block item on the side due to its positioning.

I have noticed that other modules, such as NEWS do not seem to have this problem, because they do not opening <div> tags before starting content.

For example, the news module just gets right down to throwing out information, whereas the newbb module uses opening <div>'s of:

<div id="index_welcome">
and
<div class="title">

Which move the module down below where I want them.

I basically want the newbb module to sit as high as possible, regardless of the height of the left/right blocks...

Ideas?

Found an interesting thread through google...

:)

https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=35362&forum=28

Basically I have to name the module folder AMS and not ams.

I suck.

Problem fixed!

Thanks for your help!

I would love to help you further but I am getting a 504 error from the download site. Sorry.

All attempts I have made to download from it-hq have failed from day 1.

It appears to work from the module repository. I have not been able to find the module anywhere else...

Just to show that I am NOT insane, I took a screenshot of the module admin panel, and the askew-ness that is this particular module..

;)

(as you can tell, the "Articles" Module at the bottom definately doesn't seem to be on the up-and-up!)

Did you try redownloading the file? Also what ftp client are you using?

Yes I tried redownloading from different mirrors, and tried different ftp clients as well (I use ws-ftp, I tried smartftp and ws-ftp pro).

I am going to download 2.41 off of another mirror and try again.

Hello all,
I have started setting up another XOOPS site, and have decided to do some testing with News 1.31 and AMS 2.41 to see which will suit my needs for information management.

Anyway, I copied over both modules, and AMS 2.41 is giving me problems. I copied both modules at the same time through binary/auto FTP transaction, and while News 1.31 looks fine, AMS 2.41 looks pooched from the get go.

After copying the module, when I go to the admin panel and look at the module list, the AMS module has no icon (even though one did successfully copy, and I can view it). After I install it, the module page shows no icon again, no module name, and it is not shown in the left hand menu. To me, the installation obviously failed.

One thing I did have to do is create the AMS folder on my computer, since the 2.41 zip file just unpacked the core files in the current directory that the archive was placed in. So, I created an AMS directory, and dumped the files within it. Then, I uploaded the ams directory with the news directory and here I am!

Sorry if that was a bit incoherent!

Well, if the logo is coded on a page that reloads when a user logs in, or accesses a menu item, then the flash movie will play again.

Now, you *may* be able to use cookies/sessions with actionscript to only play the movie once, but in that scenario you would have to use cookies/session info based on whether the user is logged in or not.

Do I know how to do this in actionscript, unfortunately not. I started looking into it for a site I was working on but then the client decided to remove all flash - made the task a low priority.

Another option could be to use frames (yuck) or something that can mimic frames so that the actual flash movie is only loaded once, however the problem would be detecting whether or not the user is logged in.

Hopefully someone else can actually have some good advice for you.

:)

Re: Formulaire / Formulize Select Box Problems

I installed the module on another site, that is running XOOPS 2.0.9.2 and it works fine.

However, it doesn't work in 2.1.1 - perhaps there is something in the way that the option data is passed in the module that 2.1.1 doesn't like...?

Hrm, I am working with Formulaire myself with my own issues, but let me get some info from you because my form modification works fine.

So, you are entering the admin control panel, clicking on modules - and entering the Formulaire modify panel?

Do you get the screen that lists your current forms, and then the options you have with such forms?

You click on the pen icon for modify and that is when you get the green arrow to go back?

Can you enter any other options, such as go to the form, check status, delete form, etc.?
