Have a look here : XOOPS Multilanguages 1.4 is out !

This version comes with the hack version of Liaise. xfSection is not done yet. You may add a feature request here : XOOPS Multilanguages - Features Tracker

Cheers !

Thank for the fast answer, I read some articels on your site about how to hack a module, but it was difficult to find the right line in the sourcecode.

Thank a lot

The modules xfsection and liaise are both very smart.
I like to use them with the multilanguage hack, but there are some problems if you try it.

Does anyone know how to hack it or where I can get hacks for these modules.

Thank you for any answer or tipp.

Matangi

P.S. I am working on German language files for the xfsections

found two problems in the eCal block modul.

--> the tables where not displayed correct

--> special caracters cause problems when displayed in IE 5.0

I changed this and it should work fine now,
please test before using it.

Here is the corrected file as a zip

Don't expect anyone in here to reply to your RSS encoding questions... I had the same problem (for Greek) and found no answer yet. So i found my own solution... Use lycos syndication module where everything works like a charm... You even get javascript support as a bonus... Cheers mate...

Greetings from Coconutcity,

I was trying some rss features, does the lycos rss solution fit to the standard rss code.

I tried to send the build in rss from XOOPS to syndic8.com, but they rejected it, because it does not fit to the standard.

If lycos delivers the standard rss code maybe its interesting for many sites to share there information about syndic8.com
or other services.
The latest browser generation also start to handle rss feed.
This will bring up much traffic and a wider spread of your website.

If you have some experience, please answer

I have a wfsections for download at my site. I hacked this a bit using Catswolfs Spaw Module. I did this for a friend who wanted to create web pages for people, and also allow them to edit there own pages. Catswolf gave me some help in a post on bypassing the XOOPS linebreaks thing.

This one has Spaw wysiwyg at both the user end and the admin end. Users can edit and manage their own pages.

Do you have a sample or is it possible to download a sample, can`t find it on your site

I will try some solutions and when I found something I will post it.

It has to be an easy solution, I don`t like to write websites in html for my friends, because of lifetimegarantee and they will ask me to change things every day.

The module you request is in the works.

It is number two on the to-do list (after the modified language module) and we hope to get started pretty soon for earnest (at the moment we are just checking out ideas and possible technical solutions and found that it is possible to do in a neat and XOOPS complient way).

So please stay tuned as news about this might soon appear on this site.

Don't expect it to be tomorrow, though.

In my opinion this will help to give a more professional impression to the users, they never ask for technic only that its easy to use and fullfilling their ideas.

Thanks for the answer and good luck with coding

Help function with user levels

My users are less used to websites with functions. A lot of them have problems to use XOOPS because of the bunch of functions it offers ( like to register ). The result is that the send me emails with there questions, ...

What I appreciate is a function ( a link ) that calls a help file from the database for every module. That means it has to be included in the module-file structure.

Every module you install you have to find the faq, read-me or whatever. There is a description for the admin but not for the user.

I like to have a button like a questionmark that call the help file from the database. The call is depending on your user-level from anonymous to admin.

It makes it easier to spread the helpfiles around in the community and for the users of the system is less questions.

Hope you think about it, because XOOPS should have a easy usability even for the non computer-skilled people.

Thanks Matangi
