First off I would like to thank the xoops community for great posts and great support in the forums :) I found solutions to most of my problems here but I really need help with this particular one

I have installed the CBB module here but for some strange reason it does not display how it should!!! Icons are missing and the database name for slots seem to be appearing instead of the real name.

How do you think I could adjust these issues? I have read the forums for days and found solutions to problems I was having with the newbb forum.

By the way, the RC version of CBB works great but when I add a category I cannot seem to see it on the main forum. It only shows up in the Admin panel under "Forum" and not even under "Category"

Could someone please help me with this? Thanks

Which version of CBB and XOOPS do you use?

Could be a theme template problem. For example, there is an error at the Updates Forum title:

Quote:
The requested URL /images/subject/

Did you make any changes to the templates?

Also, several language definitions are missing on top, e.g.

_MD_TODAYTOPICSC0

BTW - you are missing the image:

Support XOOPS => DONATE
Use 2.5.11 | Docs | Modules | Bugs

The only change I made to the template was trying to add my logo up on top and that is why the image is missing there.

When I go to the modules tab in admin these are the versions I get:

System version 2
CBB forum version 3.08

The RC version of CBB displays great with this template however I am unable to see the categories when I create them.

How could I go about correcting _MD_TODAYTOPICSC0 issues?
any other help would be most appreciated

You have mixed up the two versions of CBB on your site.
Uninstall it and delete all files in /modules/newbb/
Then install it again with a fresh copy of 3.08.
Do not use v4 on production sites.

is there any way to save my forum categories?

By the way...when I installed the newbb forum the first time I got some issues with edit the categories. I could create them, they would be seen when I logged out but if I wanted to edit the forum later on I was unable to do that. All I would see is a blank screen

You should be able to export your cbb database tables (through phpMyadmin) and then re-import them after re-installing the module to save the categories (and even messages if you have any).

I found on a fresh install that I had to convert alot of the icons to .png as they were missing. Wierd as it was downloaded from here and noone ever mentioned it. But many of the images needed converted to .png

Hope that helps, I just opened all the .jpg images that didnt have .png in GIMP and saved em as .png and it resolved the issue.

Hope that helps,

Scott
