what I wanted to say to you is to have very clear how the encoding will be managed, I don't understand this very well and it's something that must be kept in mind when using the special caracters of spanish and portugues

Xlanguage is an excellente module/script created for XOOPS which allow to make Multilanguages websites easily.
For charsets encodage for EN, ES and BR, I suggest ISO-8859-1.

I've fixed the accents problems due to the encodage only recently (so some texts are not yet fixed).

I've been using xlanguage here EN-FR
I've tested it locally with two more languages
italian and portuguese but it appears to be
quite limited. In Switzerland there's 4 official
languages. Joining europe it still the headache
cause... without treatment!



How did you manage your articles titles and content?

For the titles, it's not always easy because forms don't always allow long text, and we don't have enough place to put all the translation :

So, in most of cases, I put a title easy to understand for everybody. (all languages)

xlanguage has 2 problems:
minor problem is text limited size between tags
but major problem is open tags that cause 500 errors.
you know some modules cut texts for example the comment system cut title and tooltips in news 1.44 and so on

but i dont see any problem in easiestML hack by Gijoe.
but with easiestMl you cant change XOOPS language.it just change contents languages
