I am using XOOPS 2.0.18 and smartsection 2.13 and i have made no upgrades or changes.

Does anyone has an idea how this comes?

Which xoopseditor are you using?

Smartsection 2.13 doesn't use xoopseditors in the class/xoopseditor folder. Rather, it looks for editors in a folder class/wysiwyg. See this article on Mark Boyden's website. I got Koivi working this way.

If you haven't changed anything or deleted any editors then you need to be looking at something else. Have you tried clearing your website's cache? Also, try going into preferences and checking for template changes.

Has your hosting company changed anything? Check for permissions on the cache and template_c folders (which should be writeable).

Smartsection 2.13 works fine on XOOPS 2.4.3; any reason why you haven't upgraded yet?

Re: Module News. How to edit news?

I'm using XOOPS 2.4.2 and news 1.63 and can edit okay.

Perhaps you could try upgrading to the current versions (i.e. 2.4.3 and 1.64) to see if things improve? Try the XOOPS upgrade first.

I have to say that I've not had this particular problem with any version of XOOPS or the news module. If it was a problem with the news module then these forums would be alight with posts as news is one of the most popular modules around.

Let us know how you get on and report back, yes?

Sorry, but I suspect that there's a misunderstanding over terminology. Do you mean "templates" or "theme"?

Templates are used by the core and modules to display content. A theme controls the oversall "look" of your site.

Which are you referring to?

Sorry for the slow reply, but you might have had a quicker reply if you'd said which Forum module you're using. And it's Christmas

If you are using CBB 3.08 then you will need to edit the Forums (in admin, click on the Forums tab, and then on the edit icon for each forum) and set the radio button for "Allow HTML" to "Yes".

You will have to do this for every forum as there is no setting to apply this universally to all forums.

HTH

Did you apply this new version of xoopsload.php?

Presumably this will be included in v2.4.3?

I haven't been able to access to module's admin index page since ExtCal version 2.2.x was released, both on XOOPS 2.4.2 and earlier versions (certainly since XOOPS 2.3.x and possibly since 2.0.x - bad memory!).

I can access the module's other admin pages though.

I haven't used the module in anger since upgrading to XOOPS 2.4.2 other than to edit existing events; this seems to work okay.

As for alternatives, GIJoe has a module that might work on XOOPS 2.4.2 - google for "peak xoops" and you'll find his site.

[edit]just re-read your post:
Notice: Constant _DB_POSLINE_DESC already defined in file /modules/backup/language/english/modinfo.php line 24
What is this /backup/ sub-folder in your modules directory? If it is a module then what happens if you deactivate it?[/edit]

Update the module where the templates belong to.

That would be the System module

Take a look at the xoopscare module - this can be used to clear you cache both on-demand and automatically

xyp4all 1.58RC1

Didn't make it to final release but works fine with XOOPS 2.4.2

Code is a bit old and needs updating. I'm using it as my "php learning project", and will update it for php5 at least.

Let me know if there's something that you think needs doing.

Google has a lot to answer for

In answer to your query, you need to modify the template (news_block_top.html) rather than a .php file as it's the template that displays the information on your page.

Unfortunately, it's a large template file and you need to find that part of it that your settings call before editing it.

Bottom line () is that you'll need to put the content into two columns. Can you let us know which block settings you are using?
