Hello!
I have XOOPS 2.4.1 and module News 1.63

When I try to edit news from admin panel it redirect to the home page. What is the reason of this problem?

Thank you!

I'm using XOOPS 2.4.2 and news 1.63 and can edit okay.

Perhaps you could try upgrading to the current versions (i.e. 2.4.3 and 1.64) to see if things improve? Try the XOOPS upgrade first.

I have to say that I've not had this particular problem with any version of XOOPS or the news module. If it was a problem with the news module then these forums would be alight with posts as news is one of the most popular modules around.

Let us know how you get on and report back, yes?

Alexey1st, Welcome to the XOOPS Forum!

Check the group permissions for the news module and see your users group has admin access.

ghia, thank you!

Maybe I don't understand something? How it should work?
Where should I see a textarea? In admin panel or another place?
When I click on the edit it redirect me to submit.php?returnside=1&op=edit&storyid=7
But I see only home page.

I've upgraded the XOOPS and module news. Permissions like in norm too!

Seems to me that after you post an article in news 1.6.3 even if you remove the schedule date check box you still have to go to the admin and approve it for it to display on the front page, or it might be an editor issue.

Do you have the "Auto approve news stories without admin intervention?" set to "Yes" (module's preferences).

Articles will auto-approve if you have and your user-group has "approve" permissions in the both the "permissions" tab" and for the "topic" in the "Topic manager" tab.

Also, you need to make sure that the "Approve" check-box under "Options" on the new article submission form is checked.

HTH

Did you check in the next tab 'permissions' if your user group has permission for the topic?
There are 3 permissions, selectable with the drop down:
view should for everyone,
submit for registered
approuve only for webmasters or eg a moderators user group.
