I am currently trying to put together a very very basic shop module for xoops. I am not advanced in php at all so my efforts are a bit of a struggle.

I am currently using the module smallstore and I am trying to get it so that it adds up the amounts that are selected and gives a total and also I am trying to get it to use use the XOOPS built in mailing function as I use AuthSMTP for my relay.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated or if you know of a better module that I should be using I am willing to try it out.

This is what I am trying to do.

Trying to display items that have a price
the visitor can select how many of each item
the module then updates the amount and adds tax
when the visitor submits the order it is mailed to an XOOPS group or an e-mail address.
it would be nice if I can track how many times something has been sold.

The module does not have to process any payments or take any money it just needs to e-mail out the order.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

I have been a proud member of the XOOPS community for many years. I am a gamer and I run several XOOPS based sites for my guild. Our main guild site has been running on XOOPS for I would like to say 7 years now. I have ported some gamer based tools (like kill boards and stuff) into XOOPS and distributed them to other guilds that are running Xoops.
Things have been great up to about 6 months ago when our site started getting spammed with advertisements from Viagra to In game gold. I have configure the site to require a valid e-mail to signup I don’t allow anonyms posting for anything including comments I have even started banning IP’s at least the ones that are legit IP’s. I even run the protector module on my site. However even with all my efforts they still seem to slip through the seams and get into the site.
As a last resort I am reaching out to the XOOPS community to ask for help. I am looking for suggestions on how I can make my site unusable for spammers but still maintain usability for my guild which currently stands at about 600+ people spread a crossed many games.
This is my current configuration
I’m running XOOPS 2.0.17.1 (and this has been upgraded many times as the site is between 7 to 10 years old)
Protector module 3.15 (currently it is temporarily disabled as I ran into an issue with it and it locked my site down on me)
Any help would be greatly appreciated in case you want to look at the site and if you can see security holes please feel free to @ www.theood.com Just I ask that you don’t damage the site.
If anyone needs more information please don’t hesitate to ask I own the server the site lives on so I can do anything that is needed to be done.
Thank You,
Proud XOOPS community member

I upgraded from 2.2.3 to 2.4.1 and I have serveral other XOOPS sites that I have built that are earlyer versions that work just fine with the settings however this is the only site that I have that is throwing the error. All the sites reside on the same server and I can Telnet to the relay server from my server so I know the connectivity is there and that the username and password for the SMTP relay server is correct

Ok I have upgraded to the latest stable version.

I just setup my mail preferances for the site and I use Auth SMTP to relay mail. I set everything up however I am getting the following errors

Warning: implode(): Bad arguments. in file /class/mail/xoopsmultimailer.php line 160

Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to :25 in file /class/mail/phpmailer/class.smtp.php line 122

Is there something I can do to correct this issue. Right now my site will not send mail it gives me an error saying that it is unable to connect to the smtp server. However from the server I can open a connection on port 25 to the relay server without issue

Any help would be great

Thanks!

Both sets of instructions did the trick. I was able to upgrade without issue.

Thanks!

I wanted to find out if there was a way to upgrade from 2.2.3 to at least the 2.3.x or higher. I looked around and I was unable to find an upgrade path. maybe someone can point me in the right direction.

Ok I know this is probibly something right under my nose but here is the situation. I moved my XOOPS site to a new server after loading the db and making sure all the paths where correct and the web server was configured correct I get the following error "XOOPS root path not defined" I checked the mainfile.php and the paths in there are correct as well.

where else should I look or am I just overlooking something.

Thanks

can't remember the version of XOOPS this site but it is fairly current. I am running IIS for the web server and php5

I am looking to change the default notification method for users when they register. Currently it is always set to send via PM do I have to mod code somewhere to change this to e-mail or is there a setting I am just over looking.

Thanks!

Thanks for the pointer however the tread you are referanceing is talking about a blank mail config page. basicaly what they are talking about is someone was getting a blank page when trying to access the sites e-mail config page. The solution they are talking about is a change to the database to resolve the problem. So the file they are talking about is an sql file that you can change the update your system module and that will correct the blank page problem. unfortunatly for me that is not my problem. I am just unable to send mail to all my users at the same time it is only getting out to the first few users then dies
