The file called during a module update should be defined in the module's xoops_version.php file. Look for something like this:

// Update
$modversion['onUpdate'] = 'include/onupdate.php';

I agree with Dylian. The wysiwyg editors are adding alot of weight.

This go round I added ckeditor and removed fck editor on six sites. Took forever.

Technical Crew Network (TCNet) has published an article and archive with how to instructions and files for creating rich media XOOPS websites using jquery and the jqMedia plugin. The JQuery Media Plugin uses a html anchor tag to render object embed code for players of all popular media file types. JQmedia also renders iframe code for any online html or pdf document. This extension of the XOOPS core adds complete multimedia support to your site without changing any core files.

XOOPS + JQMedia = xoMedia Article

xoMedia ZIP Archive

xoMedia Features

Iframes web pages and pdf documents.
Uses a html anchor tag to display multiple players.
Easy Theme integration. No core files are changed.
Direct XOOPS dhtmltext editor integration. One button inserts most all media and iframe documents.

JQuery: included with XOOPS 2.4
JQMetadata Plugin: included in the xoMedia archive
JQuery Media Plugin : included in xoMedia
swfObject (optional): included in xoMedia

There is no such package on sourceforge...only the full package.

That text is leftover from a past release. It should have been edited.

The update scripts for all past core versions are included in the upgrade folder found in the main archive.

How I Upgraded to 2.3.3 to 2.4:
1) Upload everything in htdocs except install folder, mainfile. php and the trust folders to your XOOPS root.

2) Upload the trust folders to where ever you have them now (outside of root). Make sure you do not have two instances of these.

3) Upload the upgrade folder to your XOOPS root directory

4) CHMOD and edit the remote mainfile. Save and CHMOD back to 444.

5) Logon as admin, visit yoursite/upgrade and follow the instructions.

Flawless upgrade. Thanks to all core developers!

Unless there is something new in this release,

Do not upload and writeover your mainfile.php. You will lose the settings written during the original install. Just edit the old one to look like the new one.According to this thread the protector precheck and post check includes can be removed.

There is no need to upload the install directory for an upgrade.
