NB: The links on the search results fragment that I get back are broken too... For example, I get:

href='modules/news/article.php?storyid=787'

Hi all,

I've run into an odd one on this site. I search (for "Mantis") and I see a page, the top of which is the results and the bottom says I don't have permission here. Then it refreshes me away into an endless loop of "you don't have permission" notices. It's like XOOPS lost my login info halfway through the search results page.

The search results page that I do see isn't properly formatted either. It starts with a <h3>Search Results</h3>. Not with <html> or a doc type declaration, but a heading. Then the heading comes with the redirection to:https://xoops.org/user.php?xoops_redirect=%2Fsearch.php, which puts me into an endless loop. I think the %2F is the bad part.

Next in the loop ishttps://xoops.org/user.php?xoops_redirect=%2Fuserinfo.php%3Fuid%3D1048 . Again, %2f at the start of the name.

I'm using Opera 7.2

It sounds like you have an older version of XoopsGallery (or even the original Gallery module), but I'm not sure. Try uninstalling it, deleting it from the webserver, then uploading the latest version from:

i'd like a very precise recurring events module. I'm working "by appointments",
[snip]
I want to keep the real old appointments, but change the future ones only.

Don't forget about exceptions also... "Can we change our Wed afternoon to Thurs just this week?" or "just cancel this one appt a month from now" and otherwise leave the rest as is. Outlook seems to use a exception engine for the reoccouring appointments. There's 1 reoccourance for the series, then all that don't fall on that are altered to be exceptions (added or subtracted).

Definately not a trivial job... but I'd be _very_ happy to see it. Now if that could be implemented as an appointment class that could be re-used in other modules it would be even _more_ helpful, but that's off topic :)

I'm now leaning towards FREEBSD and POSTGRESQL. Problem is we don't have that middle layer to support POSTGRESQL and would be happy if there is any news in terms of where the CORE developers are going with this.

With RH splitting to Fedora and RH$, I'm rethinking my server OS decision too. A friend highly recommended FreeBSD as an extremely stable OS to start from. I don't know much more about it other than "more stable than Linux" sounds fine (I'm happy with Linux's stability already!). Since I don't need the latest drivers for sound / 3d video / etc. on my Linux server then FreeBSD is sounding like a good way to go.

I've only used AgendaX in the minutes now (I'm evaluating it for use on a new site). I'd like to see:

--Times on events. E.g. same event at 10am and 2pm W-Sat, 2pm Sun. (like a puppet show might be).

--"Add to my calendar" function to send the user a vcs or ics file that will be added to their local calendar.

--Standard XOOPS forms for entry of data. I'm not sure now if I can use bbcode, html, or text only in the event info field (easy to experiment to test it, I want it all ).

--Event Formatting, with a different background color / font color based on the category. I believe this would work nicely to produce the "weight" mentioned by someone earlier.

--Event Day Spanning (maybe, haven't thought this one through). When an event is 10 & 2 M-Sa, have an option to show a bar all the way across the week instead of 10 seperate events to keep it clean & professional, but still able to click an individual day for the details.

--Full details in the TITLE text so it pops up when you hover the mouse over a day | event. I believe this is like what ledowski was asking for here:

It would be cool to have a little pop-up (tooltext) for dates in the minical to display further information (e.g. time, place, ...).

--If you [em]really[/em] want to make me happy, write it so you can requiest reservations, indicate sold out shows, pre-sell tickets, etc. etc.

It looks very promising! I think I definately like this module. Keep up the excellent work!

Can your new site be accessed by IP address? If it can, and Apache has your site as default, then you can forward everyone from the old site to the new one via IP address.

As far as the offer to port-for-hosting, it's tempting but I have other commitments as well.

I'd like that too. I hacked it a little so that unlinked items show up with their own class, so I can control their appearance with the theme. That still doesn't allow linked items with linked sub-items but it wouldn't be hard to do.

There is at least 1 other menu replacement, but I haven't tried it (or recall it's name). Does anyone know if it does what mgcube wants (and what it's name is)?

I also think that the LDAP implementation will determine the success of a GPL CMS like XOOPS. Currently the system is very nice, but it cannot be implemented in our organization, as we don't want to have a separate authentication system (yet another directory to maintain !!).
With LDAP integration, I really think intranet usage of XOOPS will become widely used.

Agreed. That is the ONLY reason why I haven't introduced XOOPS into our organization yet.

Is there an LDAP hack available for XOOPS 2.x?

Wow, what a bad rip off of the old mediatemple.com website. These guys aren't too original with their web site design. Lucky, mediatemple has changed their site so I can't show you the comparison. But lets just say they didn't design that cable pic or half their layout.

Hey, they gotta make up the difference in price somewhere, right? Swiping designs is cheaper than paying someone to come up with one, so....
