Publish your news in the Mozilla and netscape Sidebar

If you want, you can give the possibility to your users to read your website's news directly from their Mozilla/Netscape sidebar. To do it, create a custom html block in the blocks manager, name it as you want and copy/paste the following content inside it (you will have to replace the website's name and the url or your website). This example is available for xoops.org :

Reynaldo's ShortURLs UPDATED

sim_suin has just released Simplified URLs which is great if you are trying ShortURLs for the first time. But if you have been using the Reynaldo's ShortURLs for a while, it would be just not feasible for the switch without creating a huge mess with search engines.

One of the issues using Reynaldo's ShortURLs is that it systematically converts all URLs including admin URLs. This proves to be problematic and you end up with many white pages in modules admin due to inconsistent coding.

The UPDATED hack utilizes (or borrows ) sim_suin's idea, will exclude module admin and system admin. No more modifying the module admin files in order to get it work. Enjoy!

Epping Forest Band making sweet music in North London

I took the old "free" website down and used XOOPS to create a great new place for the band to exchange news and photographs. The idea being that I didn't have to spend all my time updating and writing content... using XOOPS, everyone can submit pictures and news.

Take a look, there is still a lot of work to do, you're all welcome to come along to one of our concerts.

xWhois V1.0 - minor template problem

We found a minor problem with the block templates included with xWhois V1.0. Basically, the form created would not pass the correct variable names to the processing component. We've corrected it in the package. You can get it HERE!

Pushing XOOPS limits? Nooo...!

After a long time of developing I am very happy to anounce the release of the dp_circuits theme for the xoops community. The graphics are all hand made, no photos, no scans, all my ideas. Tested under IE 5; IE 5.5; IE 6; Opera; Firefox (Mozilla, Netscape). Don't know Konqueror and others, but hope it works fine.
