Sport Lounge on Xoops
Bart Lambrechts the chief trainer at Sport Lounge, a Free Fight or MMA, Capoeira, Tai Chi, Krav Maga, Commando Krav Maga club in Deurne by Antwerp asked me to build a new website.
I took some common modules, tweaked them a bit and this is the result: The New Sport Lounge Site!

One more site on xoops deployed!
One more site was deployed by me Moscow Rollers site of "Rechnoy vokzal", it not so fancy like previous MSTUCA (see previous news) I apologize in advance, it's only in Russian language for the time being, but soon I'll try to make it a multi-language GOOGLE Map location link - rollers place about. What this site for, just a fun site about rollers, roller trick, etc; for whom this? For rollers of course... Ok let see what is interesting here:

XCGal - Photo gallery (with some subcategories to store different types of photos)
WFDownloads - File archive (to store some materials, files, documentations, books, etc)
UserPage - without comments
XoopsPoll - questions for simple surveys, opinions etc
MyLinks - to point some other interesting resources
ExtCal - calendar to point special events
XMMemberstats - comments not needed
NewBBEx - Forum as it could be...
Contact - users to contact an Admin if there is no other way to contact ;)
SmartPartner - to place partner banners and info about them...
GoogleMaps - point some locations locations and directions...
+ some administrative modules like - XoopsInfo, Protector and altsys and tinyEditor...
So that's all about technical site... Here is small story on how this site was done ;)...
The site was recreated about 2-3 times (free hosting, you should know what does it mean
)... First time it was just simple as it could be - chat and forum and nothing els more cause nothing more was needed... then I started to think about creating something more... how a Russian Proverb says - "initiative is punishable ;) - which means "If you say that you can or could do it - then do it and then worry about it" something like that... so I've started to practice on local host (DENWER, then XAMPP - more adapted for hosting servers), about 2-3 weeks of headaches on local host; then about the same time to search for free hosting and free domain name, and here it comes first version of rollers site... it worked online about 2 month - and then the host died (Oh damn!!! :(( not now!!!) so that was not good, cause I had only very old back ups saved... it took me about a moth to recreate it and readapt for Russian language (thanks to XOOPS2.RU - Russian support)... so it looks now like this... that's all :) , a big-small story about my first fully deployed site on the web...
any opinions and corrections are appreciated... Thank you XOOPers! again and again...

It took too long (6-8 month) for me to finish it early, couse when i start it, there was was many thing to do and undo ;), and its still only avalible only on russian language, but if some one interested may use translate.google.com ore tranlslate.ru service to view it on preferred language...

MYIFRAME - to point and seamlessly interact with a web site some outer resources
USERPAGE - each user can create a personal page about him self or anything else (authorized of course)
SITEMAP - without comments
CONTACT US - contact module to contact with a different departments via web form (with captcha of course)
XHLD0 - to import some aviation head lune news on site...
RSSFit - out of comments...
XMMEBERSTATS - who is online
DMS - for document management, currently disabled and turned off, cause it was not suitable enough...
SMARTFAQ - soon be applied and enabled to help users with the questions, "HOW to do ..."
so and a couple of administrative modules, to help being it managed more comfortable and securely...
Oh my, it was my longest, hardest, and most brain storming project for my university by me, cause some things did not work correctly, did not adapted for my needs, and so on... but I did it, but only with your help and support, VERY BIG THANKS TO YOU XOOPERS, if I had used other CMS for it, I think, i would lose a half of my brain...

XOOPS User Pooling
Users pooling is an older concept, OpenID is one example where it works well. It is not often done due to the complexity, but now it is written into 2.3.1 as you can see at the demo site http://www.policybackup.com.
Just register at http://www.policybackup.com, and you'll receive a confirmation email from another server: http://www.xoops.asia. Confirm it there, and now you can login with the same username/login at both http://www.policybackup.com and http://www.xoops.asia.
Following this example, you'll be able to subscribe to XOOPS, and use the same login/password for all XOOPS Websites, e.g. http://dev.xoops.org.
With the copy of X-Soap 3.0.1 which comes with the necessary plugins, you can connect your userbase to a central service, have all the other either direct accessing the central service, or series of tiers in a p2p chain sequence. All you need to do is have access to the plugin on that system and you can authorize the users.
Completely secure, SOAP serializes itself between the services sending its data encrypted, so there is no chance of somebody in the middle attacking/hacking it. And it operates on port 80 so it works in just about any environment. This library uses the XoopsUser object primarily, but you could theoretically have your XOOPS system authoring and syndicating services with several hybrid systems like .NET, an IBM Mainframe or other systems that support SOAP.

The Yahoo! Messenger module will implement Yahoo Messenger to your site so that you and your visitors can chat with friends from within your XOOPS site...
The chat window is iframed from Yahoo so it will not influence on your bandwidth.
Install as a normal module.
