XOOPS Mentioned in Danwei Web publication
Recently Danwei, a website about media, advertising and urban life in China, has published article (-->read here) about Wokai, a non-profit organization committed to enabling people in China to lift themselves from poverty.
It was nice to see that the Wokai people mentioned that their Website was built using XOOPS! That's a great advertisement for us!

Welcome to the second issue of WOX (World of XOOPS) Newsletter in 2009

(see here previous versions) We hope, everybody came back from Christmas, New Year's Eve and Chinese New Year's Eve vacations relaxed and energized!!!
As first thing in this newsletter we wanted to express our gratitude to all of who have donated money to XOOPS Foundation! We very much appreciate it, as it helps us to pay for the server and other expenses. BTW - our 2008 Financial Report will be published in the next couple of weeks.
Other highlights of the month:
- XOOPS Innovation Award - for people who create something very unique and innovative for XOOPS. This time the award goes to Laurent JEN (DuGris) from XOOPS France for his work on XOOPS Installer to be featured in XOOPS 2.3.3!!
- XOOPSer of the Month Award: is given to XOOPS members who show extraordinary dedication to XOOPS, and go the extra mile for XOOPS. This month, the XOOPS community recognized Michael Beck (Mamba), the Webmaster of http://www.xoops.org for his work on the Website and for keeping the WOX Newsletter coming.
- New section on Translations
- Design Contest for XOOPS Giftshop
- Good Press about XOOPS, e.g. in CMSWire about XOOPS
- Work continues on XOOPS 2.3.3, and we hope to have it soon available for testing.

Match Module (to be used in conjuntion with the profile module in ver 2.30)
A module to be used in conjunction with the profile module. It can be used as a dating module or other purposes suitable for an advanced social networking website for xoops.

1. Use the profile module to create fields as per normal.
2. Use the match module to have set it's own permissions on each field as created by the profile module.
3. Match module will have it's own profile page set according to it's permissions
4. Profile can be activated / De-activated by the user (modules/match/activategroup.php)
5. Search for members who's profile has also been activated in the Match module
6. Add/remove members to a favorite group (modules/match/mycontacts.php)
7. A new block with all the options must be enabled and visible for the additional options:
* add/remove to favorites,
* Search,
* View profile
