This will allow us to find any problems before we release it to you, our users, as a Final release. The update went very smooth, and as you can see, XOOPS 2.5.0 RC is working just fine, handling tons of traffic here However, please DO NOT use XOOPS 2.5.0 RC on your production sites, it is, after all, still NOT the final release. We have the experts in house, so we can fix things very quickly, which might not be the case with you. So please test it on your local PC and let us know any issues that you might have. We would like to release the Final within a week or so, unless you report any major showstoppers. So let's focus this week and testing and more testing! And don't forget to vote for XOOPS in the Packt's Open Source CMS Awards!!! We need you vote!!! (Click here)

Re: XOOPS Website Powered by XOOPS 2.5.0 RC
Hi Mamba, I will be testing this new release this week locally, with as close as a set up as I can get to my live site.
Is it only the backend of xoops that has been changed? or is there other code been changed which could have some conflicts with modules? or hacks? for example the xorewritemodules hack.
Although I am completely confident that core devs would sort any problems with the core, im not sure I can be as confident of any issues with module code being fixed, not so much with active module developers but with popular, widely used modules that dont seem to get developed any more.

Except some bug fixes, it was mainly the backend that was changed (the /system module)

I support completely such approach. Thanks, Mamba!
Re: XOOPS Website Powered by XOOPS 2.5.0 RC
I have actually started running 2.5.0 RC on Three of my sites with only a couple of minor glitches with some modules. one being profile it seems when I go to the visibility tab under permissions I get a blank page, and in the block section on some of them when i make them visible they do not show up on the site.other than that so far so good I like it.
